Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British/New Zealand mini-series The Luminaries directed by Claire McCarthy, written by Eleanor Catton based on his novel of the same title and starring Eva Green, Himesh Patel, Eve Hewson, Ewen Leslie and Marton Csokas. The show’s original music is composed by David Long (6 Days, McLaren, Ice). Club Champion has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last year. Also premiering tonight following two preview episodes earlier this year is the Fox animated comedy The Great North created by Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin & Minty Lewis and starring Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Megan Mullally, Will Forte, Paul Rust, Dulcé Sloan and Aparna Nancherla. John Kimbrough (Man with a Plan, Man Up!) & Scott Seiver are composing the show’s original music. Soundtrack Album for HBO’s ‘The Investigation’ Released

Gateway Music has released a soundtrack album for the Scandinavian limited series The Investigation. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen (Before the Frost). The Investigation is written and directed by Tobias Lindholm and stars Søren Malling, Pilou Asbæk, Pernilla August, Laura Christensen, Rolf Lassgård, Anders Juul, Hans Henrik Clemensen, Henrik Birch, Dulfi Al-Jabouri and Charlotte Munck. The 6-parter eplores the complex real-life investigation surrounding the 2017 murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, one of the most notorious criminal cases in Danish media history. Nathan Matthew David (The Last Word, Slice, Deadly Class, Angie Tribeca, Surviving R. Kelly, Satisfaction) is composing the original score for the new NBC comedy Young Rock. The show is created by Dwayne Johnson & Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat, Always Be My Maybe) and stars Johnson himself, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Uli Latukefu, Bradley Constant, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa and John Tui. The series focuses on different chapters of Johnson’s life, from growing up in a strong and resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family and to playing football at the University of Miami. Opening in theaters nationwide today and also premiering on HBO Max is the drama Judas and the Black Messiah directed by Shaka King and starring Daniel Kaluuya, LaKeith Stanfield, Dominique Fishback, Ashton Sanders, Jesse Plemons and Martin Sheen. The film’s original score is composed by Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, Miracle, A River Runs Through It) & Craig Harris. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music today (click here the full details). Also out now is a separate album featuring an original song by H.E.R. as featured in the movie, as well as other songs inspired by the film (click here for more information).

Also opening wide is the drama Land directed by Robin Wright and starring Wright herself, Demián Bichir and Kim Dickens. Ben Sollee (Maidentrip) and the string trio Time for Three. have composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as a song written and performed by Daniel Toshian today. Node Records has released the official soundtrack album for the period romantic drama The World to Come. The album features the film’s original music written by British composer Daniel Blumberg who made his feature film coring debut on the project. Also included is the original title song written and performed by Blumberg & Josephine Foster. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other digital music stores. The World to Come is directed by Mona Fastvold and stars Katherine Waterston, Vanessa Kirby, Christopher Abbott and Casey Affleck. Abraham Marder’s Original Song ‘Green’ from ‘Sound of Metal’ Released

Nonesuch Records has released the original song Green from the drama Sound of Metal. The track, which has just been shortlisted in the Original Song category for this year’s Academy Awards earlier this week, is written performed by Abraham Marder, produced by Thomas Bartlett and is the closing theme for the film. The song is being released as a digital single today and is now available to stream/download here. Also listen to the track after the jump.
