Lakeshore Records will release the first soundtrack album for the CBS All Access sci-fi drama Star Trek: Discovery. The album features selections of the original music from the first part of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Snowfall, Power). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 15. A CD and vinyl version is in the works for a 2018 release. Visit Amazon to pre-order the digital version. Star Trek: Discovery is developed by Alex Kurtzman & Bryan Fuller and stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, James Frain, Michelle Yeoh and Anthony Rapp. The series is set a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series and follows the crew of the USS Discovery during the Federation-Klingon cold war.

NBC’s ‘A.P. Bio’ to Feature Music by Jeff Cardoni
Jeff Cardoni has been hired to score the upcoming NBC comedy A.P. Bio. The show is created by Mike O’Brien (Saturday Night Live) and stars Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Aparna Brielle, Jacob McCarthy and Nick Peine. The series follows a philosophy scholar who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement Biology teacher and uses his students to get back at the people in his life who have wronged him. O.Brien is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Lorne Michaels (30 Rock, Wayne’s World), Seth Meyers, Andrew Singer and Michael Shoemaker.

Premiering on Thursday, November 2, is the new CBS drama S.W.A.T. developed by Aaron Thomas, produced by Shawn Ryan and starring Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Peter Onorati. The show’s original music is composed by Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Unit, Timeless). Madison Gate Records has released a digital single featuring new version of the theme from the 70s series performed by Duncan. Premiering on Friday, November 3, is the mini-series Alias Grace created Sarah Polley and starring Sarah Gadon, Anna Paquin, Zachary Levi, Paul Gross, Edward Holcroft, Kerr Logan, Rebecca Liddiard and David Cronenberg. Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, Storks, The Boondock Saints) & Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote) have composed the show’s original music. Theme from CBS’ ‘S.W.A.T.’ to Be Released
Madison Gate Records will release the theme from the new CBS drama S.W.A.T. The track is a new version of Barry De Vorzon’s main titles theme from the classic 70s series and is performed by the reboot’s composer Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Unit, Timeless, Terriers). The theme will be released as a digital single on October 24, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to an audio clip. S.W.A.T. is developed by Aaron Thomas and stars Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Peter Onorati.

Paul Haslinger is composing the music for the new CBS drama Wisdom of the Crowd. The show is created by Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) and stars Jeremy Piven, Richard T. Jones, Natalia Tena, Monica Potter and Blake Lee. The series follows a visionary tech innovator who creates a cutting-edge crowdsourcing app to solve his daughter’s murder, and revolutionize crime solving in the process. Humphrey is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios & Universal Television production with Adam Davidson, Avi Nir (Tyrant), Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott (Samantha Who?), Rachel Kaplan, Dror Mishani and Shira Hadad.

W.G. Snuffy Walden and Patrick Rose are scoring the new CBS drama SEAL Team. The show is created by Benjamin Cavell (Justified) and stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Paré. The series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute high stakes missions. Cavell is also executive producing the CBS elevision production with Ed Redlich (Without a Trace), Christopher Chulack (ER, Animal Kingdom), Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly (Elementary, Justified).

Jeff Russo’s ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Main Theme Preview
CBS has published a behind-the-scenes video featuring the main theme from Star Trek: Discovery. The video features footage of Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Snowfall, Power) recording his theme with a 60-piece orchestra, as well as interviews with Russo himself and co-creator/executive producer Alex Kurtzman.
