La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1951 drama A Place in the Sun directed by George Stevens and starring Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor and Shelley Winters. The album features the newly remastered and original score from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Academy Award winner Franz Waxman (Sunset Boulevard, Rear Window, Rebecca, Bride of Frankenstein, Peyton Place), including previously unreleased music, as well as several source cues. The 75th Anniversary Expanded Edition CD is limited to 1,000 copies now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release. Kritzerland has previously released a limited edition of Waxman’s score in 2013 and Paramount Music has released a digital version in 2023. A Place in the Sun is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
