Lionsgate announced today that Brian Tyler will be composing the music for the upcoming Power Rangers movie. The film is directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) and stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger, and Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa. The movie follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. John Gatins (Real Steel), Burk Sharpless & Matt Sazama (Dracula Untold), Zack Stentz & Ashley Miller (X-Men: First Class) and Max Landis (Chronicle) have written the screenplay.

Brian Tyler to Score ‘Under the Gun’
Brian Tyler is composing the score for the upcoming documentary Under the Gun. The film is directed by Stephanie Soechtig (Fed Up) and centers around the mass shootings that have ripped across the United States, compounding an epidemic of gun violence in the country. The movie is told through the lens of the victims’ families, as well as pro-gun advocates. Olivia Ahnemann (Racing Extinction), Josh Kunau and Kristin Lazure are producing the project. Katie Couric who previously teamed up with Soechtig on Fed Up serves as an executive producer on the film. The movie marks Tyler’s first feature-length documentary assignment.
Shane Black’s Amazon Pilot ‘Edge’ Features Music by Brian Tyler
Brian Tyler has scored the Amazon Studios pilot Edge. The show is created by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Long Kiss Goodnight) & Fred Dekker (Tales from the Crypt, Star Trek: Enterprise) and stars Max Martini, Ryan Kwanten and Yvonne Strahovski. The drama is based on George G. Gilman’s best-selling book series of the same title and is set in 1868 where a Union officer turned cowboy who prowls the post-Civil War West is doling out his own savage brand of justice. Black & Dekker are also executive producing the project with Barry Josephson (Bones, Turn: Washington Spies) and David Greenblatt (Battle Los Angeles).
‘Truth’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the political drama Truth have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Thor: The Dark World). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 6, 2015 and physically on December 4. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD and check out a suite from the score after the jump. Truth is directed by James Vanderbilt and stars Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Dennis Quaid. The movie tells the story of how CBS News journalist Mary Mapes and Dan Rather uncovered that a sitting US president may have been AWOL from the United States National Guard for over a year during the Vietnam War.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the horror comedy Goosebumps directed by Rob Letterman and starring Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Ryan Lee and Ken Marino. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Avengers: Age of Ultron). Sony Classical and Madison Gate Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. 3rd Annual Superhero Music Panel at Comic-Con Announced
The line-up of the 3rd Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. Six leading Hollywood film and TV composers will offer a behind the scenes look at the music of today’s biggest superhero film and TV projects with unreleased film clips and never heard before music and discuss collaborating with the directors and the challenges involved in telling a story with music. Participating composers include Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who recently scored the action hit Mad Max: Fury Road and has Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coming up, Brian Tyler whose superhero film credits include Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3, as well as Marco Beltrami who recently composed the music for the new Fantastic Four film adaptation and previously scored The Wolverine and Hellboy.
Brian Tyler & Keith Power to Score ‘Criminal’
Brian Tyler and Keith Power have taken over scoring duties on the upcoming thriller Criminal. The movie is directed by Ariel Vromen (The Iceman) and stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Reynolds, Alice Eve and Gal Gadot. The film centers on a dangerous criminal who has the memories and skills of a dead CIA agent implanted into his brain in order to track down and stop an international terrorist. Douglas Cook & David Weisberg (The Rock, Double Jeopardy) wrote the screenplay.
Brian Tyler to Score D.J. Caruso’s ‘The Disappointments Room’
Brian Tyler is reteaming with director D.J. Caruso on the upcoming horror thriller The Disappointments Room. The film stars Kate Beckinsale, Gerald McRaney, Lucas Till and Mel Raido. The movie is inspired by a true story and follows a wife and mother who moves into a beautiful old rural home and discovers a secret room hidden within the attic. Wentworth Miler (Prison Break, Stoker) wrote the screenplay. Geyer Kosinski (Fargo TV series, Bad News Bears) is producing the project.

Brian Tyler to Score James Vanderbilt’s ‘Truth’
Brian Tyler has been hired to score the upcoming political drama Truth. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man, Zodiac, White House Down) and stars Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood and David Lyons. The movie is based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty by Mary Mapes about a series of memos critical of President George W. Bush’s Texas Air National Guard service record that had been discovered in the files of the president’s former commanding officer. Vanderbilt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project through Mythology Entertainment company, alongside Brad Fischer (Shutter Island, Zodiac), Doug Mankoff, Andy Spaulding , Mikkel Bondesen and William Sherak.
