Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Captain Abu Raed, Grace, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, The Banner Saga) is returning to score the new action thriller One Last Shot. The film is directed by James Nunn (Shark Bait, Wildcat) and stars Scott Adkins, Steven Cree, Hannah Ware and Dolph Lundgren. The sequel follows seasoned Navy SEAL Jake Harris as he is is called back into action when the world is threatened by a disillusioned former comrade turned domestic terrorist and must lead his team into enemy territory against a brutal barrage of mercenaries to track down and prevent the mastermind from extracting the nuclear codes.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (August 14, 2026)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi adventure The End of Oak Street written and directed by David Robert Mitchell and starring Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, Bethany Anne Lind, Christian Convery, Chris Coy, P.J. Byrne, Andrea Frankle, Pilot Bunch and Hudson Meek. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, The Batman, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Trek, Zooptopia). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday and Mutant will release a CD and vinyl version. Composer Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Captain Abu Raed, Grace, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, The Banner Saga) is reuniting with director James Nunn (Shark Bait, Wildcat) on the upcoming horror thriller Hungry. The film is written and directed by Nunn and stars Madison Davenport, Joaquim de Almeida, Tracey Bonner, Samantha Coughlan, Jim Meskimen, Olivia Bernstone, Michel Curiel and River Codack. The movie follows a group of thrill-seeking tourists traveling through the treacherous Louisiana swamplands who find themselves fighting for survival against a ravenous hippopotamus lurking beneath the bayou’s murky waters.

Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Captain Abu Raed, Aliens; Fireteam Elite, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Grace, The Banner Saga) has been tapped to score the upcoming historical drama Reykjavik. The film is written and directed by Michael Russell Gunn (in his feature directorial debut) and stars Jeff Daniels, Jared Harris, J.K. Simmons, Hope Davis, Branka Katic and Aya Cash. The movie takes place in 1986 during the Cold War and chronicles the Reykjavik Summit, when political enemies Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev met in Iceland over one long, tense weekend to decide if there will be peace or war in the world.

Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Aliens; Fireteam Elite, Captain Abu Raed, Grace, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, The Banner Saga) has composed the original music for the new British action thriller One More Shot. The sequel to 2021’s One Shot (scored by Wintory) is directed by James Nunn (Shark Bait, Eliminators) and stars Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, Alexis Knapp, Meena Rayann, Hannah Arterton and Tom Berenger. The movie follows Navy SEAL Jake Harris as he must use all his battle-honed skills to survive an airport siege from mercenaries attempting to capture a high-profile terrorist suspect.
Marcelo Zarvos, Anthony Willis, Nami Melumad, Austin Wintory & Charlie Clouser to Appear at 14th Fans of Film Music Event
A number of major film/TV/video game composers will be participating at the 14th Annual Fans of Film Music event, which will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at The Mayflower Club in North, Hollywood CA. This year’s panelists include Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder) who recently scored Antoine Fuqua’s hit thriller The Equalizer 3, Anthony Willis (Promising Young Woman, How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming) whose latest project, Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn, will be released this November and Nami Melumad (Thor: Love and Thunder, An American Pickle) whose current projects include the TV shows Star Trek: Strange New World & Prodigy.
‘Gran Turismo’ Music Team Credits Revealed
The full music team credits for the movie adaptation of the video game series Gran Turismo directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring David Harbour, Archie Madekwe, Orlando Bloom and Djimon Hounsou have been revealed. Andrew Kawczynski (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sky Hunter, The Corrupted) who has previously provided additional music to Blomkamp’s Chappie has joined Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials) to co-score the film. Several composers known for their work in video games, including Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Alien: Fireteam Elite), Jason Graves (Dead Space, Far Cry Primal), Joris de Man (Horizon Zero Dawn, Killzone), Lena Raine (Celeste, Minecraft), Helen Lynch and The Flight (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Gotham Knights) are credited for providing “additional sonic sound and music design.” Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album featuring Balfe’s & Kawczynski’s score next month. Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Thai Cave Rescue’ to Be Released
Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s limited series Thai Cave Rescue. The album features the show’s original score composed by Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Captain Abu Raed, Grace, Abzu, The Banner Saga) and Susie Benchasil Seiter (orchestrator and conductor on Minions, Star Trek Into Darkness, Jurassic World & Fortnite). Also included are two versions of the song Keep Holding On performed by The Toys. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 23 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Thai Cave Rescue is created by Michael Russell Gunn & Dana Ledoux Miller and tells the true story of the Thai youth soccer team and their assistant coach are trapped within Tham Luang Cave, prompting a global rescue effort.

Premiering tonight is the PBS documentary The U.S. and the Holocaust directed by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick & Sarah Botstein about the rise of Hitler and Nazism in Germany in the context of global antisemitism and racism in the United States. In a Circle Records will release a soundtrack album featuring original music created for the film by artists including Kinan Azmeh, Shanir Blumenkranz, Mathias Kunzli, Dan Brantigan, Jason Moran, Michael Nicholas, Dana Lyn, Dave Nelson & others this coming Friday, September 23. Austin Wintory (Journey, Captain Abu Raed, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Abzu, Grace, The Banner Saga) & Susie Seiter (who is best known as an orchestrator and conductor on films including Minions, Jurassic World, Star Trek Into Darkness and the video game Fortnite) have teamed up to score the upcoming Netflix limited series Thai Cave Rescue. The show is created by Michael Russell Gunn & Dana Ledoux Miller and tells the untold stories of the Thai youth soccer team and their coach who got trapped in one of the most dangerous cave systems on Earth in 2018 and the efforts by their families, volunteers from all over the world and the people of Thailand as they work together to save the team.
