Composer Austin Wintory (Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Captain Abu Raed, Grace, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, The Banner Saga) is reuniting with director James Nunn (Shark Bait, Wildcat) on the upcoming horror thriller Hungry. The film is written and directed by Gunn and stars Madison Davenport, Joaquim de Almeida, Tracey Bonner, Samantha Coughlan, Jim Meskimen, Olivia Bernstone, Michel Curiel and River Codack. The movie follows a group of thrill-seeking tourists traveling through the treacherous Louisiana swamplands who find themselves fighting for survival against a ravenous hippopotamus lurking beneath the bayou’s murky waters. Ben Jacques (Accident Man, Take Cover) is producing the project. Wintory has previously collaborated with Nunn on 2021’s One Shot and its 2024 sequel One More Shot. Hungry will be released on June 23, 2026 on VOD by Aura Entertainment.
Wintory’s other upcoming feature projects include Michael Russell Gunn’s The Brink of War (originally entitled Reykjavik), which will be released in theaters nationwide on August 14, 2026 by Angel Studios.
