Premiering tonight is the new Showtime original series The Affair created by Hagai Lemi & Sarah Treem and starring Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson. The show’s original music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Enough Said, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, The Door in the Floor). Premiering tomorrow, October 13, is the new CW drama Jane the Virgin created by Jennie Snyder Urman and starring Gina Rodriguez, Andrea Navedo, Justin Baldoni, Yael Grobglas, Brett Dier, Ivonne Coll and Jaime Camil. Kevin Kiner (Hell on Wheels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, CSI: Miami) is composing the show’s score and Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, The Motorcycle Diaries, Babel) has composed the theme music. Walt Disney Records to Release ‘Big Hero 6’ Soundtrack

Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ feature Big Hero 6. The album features the film’s original music composed by Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: First Class, Puss in Boots), as well as the end title track Immortals performed by Fall Out Boy. The song is featured in the New York Comic-Con Sizzle that was shown to fans earlier this week and is embedded after the jump. The soundtrack will be released physically on November 24, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A digital release is expected to be available in early November. John Swihart to Score ‘A Light Beneath Their Feet’

John Swihart has been tapped to score the upcoming indie coming-of-age dramedy A Light Beneath Their Feet. The film is directed by Valerie Weiss and stars Taryn Manning, Madison Davenport, Kurt Fuller, Maddie Hasson and Kali Hawk. The movie follows a high school senior who must choose between the college of her dreams and taking care of her mother living with bipolar disorder. Moira McMahon Leeper wrote the screenplay. Rob Johnson is producing the project and Jeffrey Loeb is executive producing. Swihart has previously collaborated with Weiss on the 2011 comedy Losing Control. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Annie’ Soundtrack Details

Roc Nation Records and Madison Gate Records will release a soundtrack album for the new film adaptation of the musical Annie. The album features the songs from the film performed by the movie’s cast including Quvenzhané Wallis, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Amanda Troya, Eden Duncan Smith, Nicolette Pierini and Zoe Colletti. Sia has also contributed music to the soundtrack, including a collaboration with Beck. The soundtrack will be released on November 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Annie directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits) is set in present day New York and follows a young, happy orphan girl who is taken in by a hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate – advised by his brilliant VP and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor. Opening in most theaters is the family comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day directed by Miguel Arteta and starring Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Dylan Minnette, Ed Oxenbould, Kerris Dorsey, Megan Mullally, Jennifer Coolidge and Bella Thorne. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring a suite from the score, as well as songs by The Vamps, Justine Dorsey, The Narwhals, Charles William and IDK & The Whatevs. Check out our previous news article for the full album details and to learn more about the film.

Also opening wide is the drama The Judge directed by David Dobkin and starring Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Billy Bob Thornton and Vincent D’Onofrio. Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Skyfall, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo) has composed the film’s original music. Ronen Landa to Score ‘Eloise’

Ronen Landa has been tapped to write the music for the upcoming psychological thriller Eloise. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor Robert Legato (Titanic, Hugo, Apollo 13) and stars Chace Crawford, Eliza Dushku, Brandon T. Jackson, Robert Patrick and P.J. Byrne. The movie follows four friends who break into a defunct insane asylum and find that the institution not only houses a horrifying history but also the truth about their own tragic pasts. Chris Borrelli (The Vatican Tapes, Whisper) has written the screenplay. Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Rite, The Number 23) and Sanford Nelson are producing the project for Slam Productions and Vinson Film. Read the rest of this entry »

John Paesano to Score Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ Series

John Paesano has been hired to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series Daredevil. The show based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson and Scott Glenn. The series follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, Cloverfield) and Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel) are executive producing the Marvel Television and ABC Studios with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville). ‘The Theory of Everything’ Soundtrack Announced

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the biographical drama The Theory of Everything. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jóhann Jóhannsson (Prisoners, McCanick). The soundtrack will be released on November 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips will be posted on this page soon. The Theory of Everything is directed by James Marsh (Man on Wire, Shadow Dancer) and stars Eddie Redmayne as physicist Stephen Hawkins and Felicity Jones as Jane Wilde, the arts student he fell in love with when he attended Cambridge in the 1960s. Charlie Cox, Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Lesley Manville, Simon McBurney, Maxine Peake and Harry Lloyd are co-starring in the drama, which premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. ‘At the Devil’s Door’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Nicholas McCarthy’s horror thriller At the Devil’s Door. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ronen Landa (Cavemen, Festival of Lights) who previously scored the director’s The Pact. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 28, 2014 and physically on November 25. Audio clips will be added this article within the next couple of weeks. At the Devil’s Door stars Naya Rivera, Ashley Rickards, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Wyatt Russell and Ava Acres. ‘Love, Rosie’ Soundtrack Announced

Königskinder Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Love, Rosie. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Elton John, Kate Nash, Elliot Smith, Peggy Lee, Gilbert O’Sullivan and more. Also included is the movie’s original score composed by Ralf Wengenmayr (Manitou’s Shoe) who who previously collaborated with the film’s director on 2011’s Vicky and the Treasure of the Gods. The soundtrack will be released overseas both physically and digitally on October 31, 2014. Love, Rosie stars Lily Collins and Sam Claflin as two characters who have been best friends since they were five years old and are their own worst enemies in their love lives.
