Composer Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, Candy, Murdaugh: Death in the Family, Sanctuary, A Small Light,The Last Frontier, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, A Friend of the Family, The Tale) is reteaming with writer/producer Elizabeth Meriwether (The Dropout, New Girl) on the new Hulu original series Furious. The show is created by Meriwether loosely inspired by Bob Rafelson’s 1987 feature Black Widow (written by Ronald Bass and scored by Michael Small) and stars Emmy Rossum, Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine and Jake Lacy. The crime thriller follows an FBI agent on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating female serial killer.Meriwether & Rossum are also executive producing the 20th Television & Searchlight Television production with Bass (Rain Man, Dangerous Minds), Matt Olmstead (Prison Break, Chicago Fire) and Sam Hoffman (Madam Secretary, Evil), as well as Brian Kirk (21 Bridges, Dead of Winter) who also directed the first two episodes. Marx & Meriwether have previously collaborated on FX’s Dying for Sex, for which they both received Emmy Award nominations. Dying for Sex. Furious will premiere this coming Monday, July 27 on Hulu.
Marx’s other recent projects include Zachary Wigon’s psychological horror thriller Victorian Psycho, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released in theaters nationwide on September 25 by Bleecker Street.
