John Ottman is attached to compose the music for the upcoming animated series The Gang’s All Here. The show developed by Byron Burton and voice actor Rob Paulsen centers on an animal cast of actors as they star in their own films and navigate the pitfalls of the entertainment industry. Voice actors Kevin Conroy, Cal Dodd and Andrea Romano are also involved in the project. Burton has previously served as an assistant to Ottman and wrote the lyrics to the song Rest Young Child (performed by Michael Fassbender’s Magneto) from X-Men: Apocalypse. Ropeadope Records has released a new soundtrack album featuring music composed by David Cieri (Oklahoma City) from several docu-series directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick & produced by Florentine Films. Notes from the Underscore: 10 Years with Florentine Films includes selections of his scores from this year’s PBS series The Vietnam War, 2011’s Prohibition and 2014’s The Roosevelts: An Intimate History. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. No movies are opening nationwide this week.

Opening in New York before being released in Los Angeles next week and in other markets later this month is the fantasy drama The Shape of Water co-written and directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Doug Jones and Octavia Spencer. The film’s original music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest HotelThe King’s SpeechHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). Also opening in limited release is the comedy drama The Disaster Artist directed by James Franco who also stars in the movie alongside Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Josh Hutcherson, Zax Efron, Ari Graynor, Jacki Weaver and Alison Brie. Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Preacher, The Blacklist) has composed the film’s original score. The full details of the soundtrack album for Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut Molly’s Game have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Counselor, Gold). The soundtrack will be released on January 5, 2018 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the western The Ballad of Lefty Brown. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (Birth of the Dragon, City of Ghosts, Cartel Land, Murder in the First). Also included is the original title song written and performed by Maiah Wynne. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 15, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Ballad of Lefty Brown is written, directed, and produced by Jared Moshé and stars Bill Pullman, Peter Fonda, Joseph Lee Anderson, Jim Caviezel, Tommy Flanagan and Kathy Baker. Brian Tyler is reteaming with director Stephanie Soechtig on the upcoming documentary The Devil We Know. The movie centers on one of the biggest environmental scandals of our time, as a group of citizens in West Virginia take on a powerful corporation after they discover it has knowingly been dumping a toxic chemical – now found in the blood of 99.7% of Americans – into the local drinking water supply. Soechtig (Fed Up) is also producing the project with Kristin Lazure, Joshua Kunau and Carly Palmour.
