Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, Tully) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Way Back. The film is directed by Gavin O’Connor (Miracle, The Accountant, Warrior) and stars Ben Affleck, Janina Gavankar, Al Madrigal, Hayes MacArthur and Rachael Carpani. The movie revolves around a former basketball all-star who has lost his wife and family foundation in a struggle with addiction and attempts to regain his soul and salvation by becoming the coach of a disparate, ethnically mixed high school basketball team at his alma mater. Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace, Run All Night) wrote the screenplay.

Rob Simonsen Scoring Julia Hart’s Disney+ Movie ‘Stargirl’
Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) is reuniting with director Julia Hart on the upcoming Disney+ original movie Stargirl. The film is based on Jerry Spinelli’s best-selling YA novel and stars Grace VanderWaal in the title role, alongside Graham Verchere,Giancarlo Esposito, Karan Brar, Darby Stanchfield and Maximiliano Hernandez. The movie follows Leo Borlock who, in a world where the spaces grow bigger even as they get smaller, meets Stargirl Caraway, a bright, authentic light who breaks through the sea of teenage confusion.

‘Fast Color’ Soundtrack Details
Miles of Lions Records will release the official soundtrack album for the supernatural drama Fast Color. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, (500) Days of Summer, Foxcatcher, The Spectacular Now, The Upside). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Fast Color is co-written and directed by Julia Hart and stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Lorraine Toussaint, Saniyya Sidney, Christopher Denham and David Strathairn. The movie tells the story of a woman forced to go on the run when her superhuman abilities are discovered but, years after abandoning her family, the only place she has left to hide is home.

‘Captive State’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Captive State have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, The Upside, Foxcatcher, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now). Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Jason Reitman’s drama The Front Runner. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, The Spectacular Now, Foxcatcher, Nerve, (500) Days of Summer) who has previously collaborated with the director on his last feature, Tully. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 2 and will be available to download on Amazon. The Front Runner is co-written and directed by Reitman and stars Hugh Jackman, Vera Farmiga, J.K. Simmons and Alfred Molina. The movie follows the rise and fall of Senator Hart, who captured the imagination of young voters and was considered the overwhelming front runner for the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination when his campaign was sidelined by the story of an extramarital relationship with Donna Rice.
