Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch directed by Scott Mosier & Yarrow Cheney and starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Nightmare Before Christmas). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details). Columbia Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, including an original song by Tyler, the Creator (click here for more information).
Also opening wide is the thriller The Girl in the Spider’s Web directed by Fede Alvarez and starring Claire Foy, Sverrir Gudnason, Lakeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks, Stephen Merchant, Claes Bang, Christopher Convery, Synnøve Macody Lund and Vicky Krieps. Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead, In the Heart of the Sea, The Machinist, The Commuter) has composed the film’s original music. Andrew Lockington has been tapped to score the upcoming romantic comedy Time Freak. The film is written and directed by Andrew Bowler and stars Asa Butterfield, Sophie Turner, Skyler Gisondo, Will Peltz, Aubrey Reynolds and Jillian Joy. The movie based on Bowler’s Oscar-nominated short of the same title follows a brilliant physics student who decides to build a time machine after his girlfriend breaks up with him. Ray Mansfield is producing the project for QC Entertainment, alongside Matthew Rhodes (Southland Tales, The Voices) for Rhodes Entertainment.
