Verve Records will release a soundtrack album for the biographical comedy drama Saturday Night. The album features the film’s original score written and recorded live on set by Academy Award and Grammy Award winner Jon Batiste (Soul, American Symphony). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 27 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. THR is reporting that singer/songwriter, jazz pianist and composer Jon Batiste (Soul, American Symphony, The First Wave) has been tapped to score the upcoming biographical comedy drama SNL 1975. The film is directed by Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air, Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and stars Gabriel LaBelle as SNL creator Lorne Michaels, alongside Cooper Hoffman, Rachel Sennott, Matt Wood, Ella Hunt, Cory Michael Smith, Dylan O’Brien, Lamorne Morris, J.K. Rob Simonsen Scoring Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’
Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) is currently scoring the upcoming supernatural comedy sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The film is directed by Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) and stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd. The movie follows a single mom and her two kids as they arrive in a small town and begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. Reitman also co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember). Ivan Reitman (Stripes, Kindergarten Cop, Dave) who directed the 1984 original Ghostbusters (scored by Elmer Bernstein) is producing the project.

The movie follows a mother of three who comes to form a unique bond with a thoughtful, surprising and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully. Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult, United States of Tara) wrote the screenplay. Reitman is also producing the project with Helen Estabrook (Whiplash, Labor Day), Aaron L. Score Album for Hulu’s ‘Casual’ Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a score album for the Hulu original series Casual. The album features the original music from the show’s first season composed by Mateo Messina (Juno, Butter, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, Barely Lethal), as well as additional music by Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Up in the Air, Thank You for Smoking, Labor Day). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 27, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical release is set to come out in early 2016. Casual is created by Zander Lehmann and stars Tommy Dewey, Michaela Watkins and Tara Lynn Barr. The show is executive produced by Jason Reitman and centers on a dysfunctional family with a bachelor brother and his newly divorced sister who coach each other through the world of dating while living under the same roof again and raising a teenager.

Mateo Messina is composing the music for the new Hulu original series Casual. The show is created by Zander Lehmann and stars Tommy Dewey, Michaela Watkins and Tara Lynn Barr. The series centers on a dysfunctional family with a bachelor brother and his newly divorced sister who coach each other through the world of dating while living under the same roof again and raising a teenager. Jason Reitman has directed the first episodes and is also executive producing the Lionsgate Television production with Lehmann, Helen Estabrook (Whiplash, Men, Women & Children) and Liz Tigelaar.
