The details of the new soundtrack album for the CW drama Stargirl have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, Krypton, McMillions, Us Again, Purl, The Angel). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 2 by WaterTower Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music platforms. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from Season 1 last year. Stargirl is developed by Geoff Johns based on the DC Comics character created by himself & Lee Moder and stars Brec Bassinger, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Hunter Sansone, Meg DeLacy and Nick Tarabay.

Michael Penn to Compose Original Music for Disney+’s ‘Stargirl’ Sequel
THR is reporting that Michael Penn (Girls, Boogie Nights, Masters of Sex, Sunshine Cleaning, The Last Kiss) is set to compose and perform original music for a sequel to last year’s Disney+ original movie Stargirl. He will also serve as the executive music producer on the film, which will be directed by Julia Hart (I’m Your Woman, Fast Color) and star Grace VanderWaal and Elijah Richardson. VanderWaal is also contributing new songs to the YA drama, which follows Stargirl’s journey out of Mica and into a bigger world of music, dreams and possibility. Hart is also co-writing the screenplay with Jordan Horowitz.

The drama tells the story of high-school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past and reimagines the classic superhero team the Justice Society of America.

The film is based on Jerry Spinelli’s best-selling YA novel and stars Grace VanderWaal in the title role, alongside Graham Verchere,Giancarlo Esposito, Karan Brar, Darby Stanchfield and Maximiliano Hernandez.
