Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak) (Midsommar, The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, Seven Seconds, Triple 9) has been tapped to score the second season of the TNT original series Snowpiercer. The new season stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Steven Ogg. Graeme Manson (Orphan Black) serves as the project’s showrunner and is executive producing the Tomorrow Studios production with Marty Adelstein & Becky Clements (Hanna), Matthew O’Connor (Continuum), Ben Rosenblatt, Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange, Sinister), and the original 2013 film’s producers, including Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), Miky Lee, Tae-sung Jeong, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi.

Bear McCreary Scoring TNT’s ‘Snowpiercer’ TV Series
Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day) has recently recorded his score for the pilot episode of the upcoming TNT original series Snowpiercer. The show, which was originally written by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds, The Black Dahlia) and later developed by Graeme Manson (Orphan Black), is based on Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 feature of the same title (scored Marco Beltrami) and stars Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Mickey Sumner, Annalise Basso, Sasha Frolova, Alison Wright, Benjamin Haigh and Roberto Urbina.

Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi action adventure Transformers: Age of Extinction directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Bingbing Li, Titus Welliver and TJ Miller. The film’s original music is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Ender’s Game, Battleship) who previously scored Bay’s last five features, including the previous three Transformers movies. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is expected to be announced soon. Imagine Dragons have written the original song Battle Cry for the film, which is now available to download as a single here. Opening in Los Angeles and New York before expanding nationwide is the musical comedy drama Begin Again written and directed by John Carney and starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, Hailee Steinfeld, James Corden, Ceelo Green and Catherine Keener. 222 Records in partnership with Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film written by Gregg Alexander, who also provided the film’s original score, as well as Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley, Nick Southwood, Rick Nowels, John Carney and Glen Hansard and performed by the film’s cast. ‘Snowpiercer’ U.S. Version Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the U.S. version of the soundtrack album for Bong Joon-ho’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (World War Z, The Wolverine, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma). The soundtrack will be released physically on July 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A soundtrack album featuring the same content was previously released exclusively in Asia. Check out our previous article for the full details. Snowpiercer stars Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer, John Hurt, Allison Pill, Song Kang Ho and Ko Asung. The movie takes place after a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet and the final survivors board a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine. The thriller will be released in select theaters on June 27, 2014 by the Weinstein Company’s Radius label.

CJ E&M Music has released a soundtrack album for the post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma, Scream). The soundtrack is currently only available in Asia (visit YesAsia to order the CD as an import). No word yet on a domestic release date. Snowpiercer is directed by Bong Joon-ho (The Host) and stars Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Ed Harris, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer and Ewen Bremner. The movie marks the Korean director’s English-language debut and follows the surviving members of humanity as they struggle to survive amidst a world covered in ice on a supertrain where the poor and the rich are constantly at odds.
Marco Beltrami to Score ‘Snowpiercer’ and ‘Warm Bodies’
Marco Beltrami has been hired to score the upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer. The film marks the English-language feature debut of Korean director Bong Joon-ho (Mother, The Host) and stars Chris Pine, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Kenny Doughty and Octavia Spencer. The movie is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. Bong has co-written the screenplay with Kelly Masterson (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead). Chan-wook Park (Oldboy) is producing the independent production. Snowpiercer is currently lensing in Prague.
