Composer Marco Beltrami (Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, Logan, A Quiet Place, Ford v. Ferrari, The Hurt Locker, Hellboy, The Wolverine) is reuniting with director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite, Mickey 17) on the upcoming animated movie Ally. The movie marks the Academy Award-winning filmmaker’s animated feature debut and tells the story of a a curious piglet squid living in the uncharted depths of the South Pacific Ocean dreaming of one day seeing the sun and becoming the star of a wildlife documentary whose peaceful world is suddenly thrown into danger when a mysterious aircraft goes down into the sea, setting her on a journey that will take her all the way to the surface.

‘Mickey 17’ Soundtrack Album Details
The details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi comedy Mickey 17 have been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jung Jaeil (Parasite, Squid Game, Okja, Twinless, Broker). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, February 28 by WaterTower Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A first track (Multiple) is already available to stream/download now. Waxwork Records will release a vinyl and CD version (click here to order the vinyl edition). Mickey 17 is written and directed by Bong Joon Ho and stars Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo and Steven Yeun. The movie follows an unlikely hero who finds himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer who demands the ultimate commitment to the job: to die, for a living.

Jae-il Jung to Score Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Mickey 17’
Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed today that Jae-il Jung (Squid Game, Broker) is set to reteam with director Bong Joon Ho on the upcoming sci-fi thriller Mickey 17. The film starring Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo is based on the novel Mickey 7 by Edward Ashton. Bong (Snowpiercer, The Host, Mother) also wrote the screenplay and is producing the Plan B Entertainment with Dooho Choi of Kate Street Picture Company.
Jaeil Jung Scoring Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Okja’
Jaeil Jung has recently composed the music for the upcoming monster movie Okja. The film is directed by Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer, The Host, Mother) and stars Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Seohyun An, Devon Bostick, Lily Collins, Byun Heebong, Shirley Henderson, Daniel Henshall, Yoon Je Moon, Choi Wooshik and Steven Yeun. The movie follows a young girl who must risk everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named ‘Okja’. Bong also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Ronson (Frank).
‘Snowpiercer’ U.S. Version Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the U.S. version of the soundtrack album for Bong Joon-ho’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (World War Z, The Wolverine, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma). The soundtrack will be released physically on July 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A soundtrack album featuring the same content was previously released exclusively in Asia. The movie takes place after a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet and the final survivors board a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine. The thriller will be released in select theaters on June 27, 2014 by the Weinstein Company’s Radius label.

The movie marks the Korean director’s English-language debut and follows the surviving members of humanity as they struggle to survive amidst a world covered in ice on a supertrain where the poor and the rich are constantly at odds.

Marco Beltrami has been hired to score the upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer. The film marks the English-language feature debut of Korean director Bong Joon-ho (Mother, The Host) and stars Chris Pine, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Kenny Doughty and Octavia Spencer. The movie is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. Bong has co-written the screenplay with Kelly Masterson (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead). Chan-wook Park (Oldboy) is producing the independent production. Snowpiercer is currently lensing in Prague.
