Premiering tonight is the Showtime original docuseries We Need to Talk About Cosby directed by W. Kamau Bell about Bill Cosby’s descent from “America’s Dad” to alleged sexual predator. . The film’s original music is composed by Vernon Reid (of Living Colour) (Paid in Full, Free Angela and all Political Prisoners). The 4-parter, which features interviews with comedians, journalists and Cosby survivors about the man, his career and his crimes, premiered last week at the 2022 Sundance Festival and will debut exclusively on Showtime.

Premiering on Wednesday, February 2, is the Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy developed by Robert Siegel & DV DeVincentis and starring Lily James, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Spencer Granese, Pepi Sonuga and Mozhan Marnò. Matthew Margeson (Rocketman, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie the Eagle, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Tuesday, January 7, is the CBS drama FBI: Most Wanted created by Dick Wolf & Rene Balcer and starring Julian McMahon, Kellan Lutz, Roxy Sternberg, Keisha Castle-Hughes and Nathaniel Arcand. The show’s original music is composed by Atli Orvarsson (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, Chicago Fire). Premiering on Wednesday, January 8, is the Freeform original series Party of Five created by Amy Lippman & Christopher Keyser based on their 90s series of the same title and starring Brandon Larracuente, Emily Tosta, Niko Guardado and Elle Paris Legaspi. Jon Ehrlich (House, Parenthood, About a Boy, Goliath) & Jason Derlatka (Perfect Harmony) are composing the show’s original score. Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the shark thriller The Meg directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, Page Kennedy, Robert Taylor and Sophia Shuya Cai. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire). Also opening wide is the supernatural horror thriller Slender Man directed by Sylvain White and starring Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso and Javier Botet. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Clash of the Titans) and Brandon Campbell (The Thinning) have composed the film’s original score. ‘Dog Days’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Dog Days. The album features the film’s original music composed by Craig Wedren (The School of Rock, GLOW, Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer, How to Be a Latin Lover) and Matt Novack (They Came Together, Childrens Hospital), including songs featuring Jasmine Cephas Jones who also appears in the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 10, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dog Days is directed by Ken Marino and stars Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Adam Pally, Eva Longoria, Rob Corddry, Tone Bell, Jon Bass, Michael Cassidy, Finn Wolfhard and Ron Cephas Jones.

Only one new movie is opening nationwide this weekend:

Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi action adventure Transformers: Age of Extinction directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Bingbing Li, Titus Welliver and TJ Miller. The film’s original music is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Ender’s Game, Battleship) who previously scored Bay’s last five features, including the previous three Transformers movies. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is expected to be announced soon. Imagine Dragons have written the original song Battle Cry for the film, which is now available to download as a single here. Opening in Los Angeles and New York before expanding nationwide is the musical comedy drama Begin Again written and directed by John Carney and starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, Hailee Steinfeld, James Corden, Ceelo Green and Catherine Keener. 222 Records in partnership with Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film written by Gregg Alexander, who also provided the film’s original score, as well as Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley, Nick Southwood, Rick Nowels, John Carney and Glen Hansard and performed by the film’s cast.
