Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Last Man on Earth created by and starring Will Forte and executive produced by Chris Miller & Phil Lord and Seth Cohen. Mark Mothersbaugh (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) is composing the show’s original music. The Last Man on Earth is set in the year 2022 and follows a man who searches the entire United States for any signs of other living humans after an unknown event wipes out the entire population of Earth. Also premiering tonight is the new ABC drama Secrets and Lies created by Barbie Kligman based on the Australian mini-series created by Stephen Irwin and starring Ryan Phillippe, Juliette Lewis, KaDee Strickland, Natalie Martinez, Dan Fogler, Indiana Evans and Belle Shouse. The show’s original music is composed by Matteo Zingales. Secrets and Lies follows a man who stumbles across the dead body of his neighbor’s young son whilefor a jog, only to find himself accused of being the murderer. Mateo Messina has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC comedy Growing Up Fisher. The show is created by DJ Nash (Up All Night) and stars J.K. Simmons, Jenna Elfman, Eli Barker, Ava Deluca-Verley and Lance Lim. Jason Bateman serves as the show’s narrator. The series follows a 11-year old son who idolizes his blind father and is bemused by his mother’s newfound adolescence. Nash, Bateman and Jim Garavente (Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium) are executive producing the Universal Television and Aggregate Films production. David Schwimmer (Friends, Trust) has directed the pilot episode. Growing Up Fisher is set to premiere this spring on NBC. 
Expected to top the weekend box office is the superhero sequel Thor: The Dark World directed by Alan Taylor and starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Kat Dennings, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Anthony Hopkins. Brian Tyler who previously scored Marvel’s Iron Man 3 earlier this year has composed the film’s music. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally and Intrada Records will release a physical version. Check out 
Opening in limited release is the period drama The Book Thief directed by Brian Percival and starring Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson and Sophie Nelisse.
