Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror comedy The Monkey co-written and directed by Osgood Perkins and starring Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Sarah Levy, Christian Convery,Elijah Wood, Colin O’Brien and Rohan Campbell. The film’s original music is composed by Edo Van Breemen (Air, Hollow in the Land, Afflicted, The Backward Class). Filmtrax/Atlantic Screen Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the family drama The Unbreakable Boy written and directed by Jon Gunn and starring Zachary Levi, Meghann Fahy, Jacob Laval and Patricia Heaton. Pancho Burgos-Goizueta (Ordinary Angels, Wheels, Righteous Thieves, People You May Know, God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness, My True Fairytale) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be released by Lionsgate Records. ‘The Quiet Ones’ Soundtrack Released

Zentropa has released a soundtrack album for the Danish heist thriller The Quiet Ones (De Lydløse). The album features the film’s original music composed by Martin Dirkov (The Apprentice, Holy Spider, Shorta, Knocking, Border, Holiday, The Charmer). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track (The Silence) below. The Quiet Ones is directed by Frederik Louis Hviid and stars Gustav Giese, Reda Kateb, Amanda Collin, Jens Hultén, Christopher Wagelin, Amin Ahmed and Granit Rushiti. The movie is based on a true story about a group of Danish and European men who planned to commit the largest robbery ever on Danish soil as the financial crisis hits Europe in 2008.

Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the comedy The Other Woman directed by Nick Cassavetes and starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kate Upton, Taylor Kinney and Nicki Minaj. Aaron Zigman (Bridge to Tarabithia, The Proposal) who previously collaborated with the directors on such movies as John Q, The Notebook and My Sister’s Keeper has composed the film’s original score. ‘The Quiet Ones’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller The Quiet Ones. The album features the film’s original score composed and performed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6, The Raven, The Cold Light of Day). Also included are the songs Cum On Feel The Noize by Slade and Telegram Sam by T.Rex, as well as three original Radio Caroline jingles from the 70s. The soundtrack will be released on April 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Quiet Ones is directed by John Pogue and stars Jared Harris, Sam Claflin, Erin Richards, Rory Fleck-Byrne and Olivia Cooke. The Hammer Films production follows a University professor who uses controversial methods and leads his students to take part in creating a Poltergeist from negative human energy. The soundtrack will be released nationwide on April 25, 2014 by Lionsgate.

Lucas Vidal to Score ‘The Quiet Ones’

Lucas Vidal has signed on to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Quiet Ones. The Hammer Films production is directed by John Pogue (Quarantine 2) and stars Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Jared Harris (Mad Men, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). The film follows a University professor who uses controversial methods and leads his students to take part in creating a Poltergeist from negative human energy. James Gay-Rees (Senna) and Steven Chester Prince are also producing. The thriller marks Hammer Film’s and producer Simon Oakes’ first film to go into production following this year’s Daniel Radcliffe-starring box office hit The Woman in Black, which has become the highest grossing British horror film of the last 20 years. The project’s screenplay is written by Tom De Ville with revisions by Craig Rosenberg (After the Sunset, The Uninvited), Oren Moverman (The Messsenger, Rampart) and Pogue. The Quiet Ones is set to begin production this month and a release in 2013 is expected.
