Premiering tonight is the Showtime original documentary The Longest War directed by Greg Barker and executive produced by Alex Gansa & Howard Gordon about America’s involvement in Afghanistan, now the longest war in U.S. history. The film’s original music is composed by Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, Crimson Peak, A Monster Calls, Hercules, Devil). Check our our previous news article to learn more about the movie, which will air tonight after the penultimate Homeland episode on Showtime.

Premiering tomorrow, April 20, is the Netflix animated series The Midnight Gospel created by Pendleton Ward & Duncan Trussell and starring Trussell himself, Phil Hendrie, Drew Pinsky, Joey Diaz, Natasha Leggero, Johnny Pemberton, Christina Pazsitzky and Stephen Root. Joe Wong (Master of None, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, Russian Doll) is composing the show’s original music. Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, Crimson Peak, Hercules, Devil, A Monster Calls) has recently scored the new Showtime documentary The Longest War. The film is directed by Greg Barker (Manhunt: The Inside Story of the Hunt for Bin Laden, The Final Year) is a companion piece to the final season of Showtime’s Homeland and centers on the human stories and drama behind America’s involvement in Afghanistan, now the longest war in U.S. history. The movie will unpack the CIA’s long and morally complicated history in Taliban from the 1980s to the present through first-hand accounts of CIA officers and other U.S. key officials.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British drama Belgravia created by Julian Fellowes and starring Tamsin Greig, Philip Glenister, Harriet Walter, Alice Eve, Tara Fitzgerald, Ella Purnell, Richard Goulding, James Fleet, Adam James, Paul Ritter and Saskia Reeves. The show’s original music is composed by John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom, Grantchester, Shetland, Jamestown). The biographical drama tells the true story of Sergio Vieira de Mello, a Brazilian-born UN diplomat who relished hot spots and war zones where he used his charm, good looks and negotiating skills to save lives.
