Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the action comedy directed by Patrick Hughes and starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek, Elodie Yung and Joaquim De Almeida. The film’s original score is composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the songs from the movie by Lionel Ritchie, Foreigner, King Harvest, Chuck Berry, Samuel L. Jackson & more. Also opening wide is the crime comedy Logan Lucky directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Sebastian Stan, Hilary Swank, Daniel Craig and Dwight Yoakam. David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Haywire) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Logan Lucky’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Steven Soderbergh’s crime comedy Logan Lucky. The album features the songs from the film by artists including John Denver, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Bo Diddley, John Fahey, The Groundhogs, LeAnn Rimes & more. Also included is a medley of the movie’s original score composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s trilogy, Out of Sight, Haywire). The soundtrack will be released on August 18, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Logan Lucky stars Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Sebastian Stan, Hilary Swank, Daniel Craig and Dwight Yoakam. The movie follows a close group of working class siblings and their friends who set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the beloved Coca-Cola 600 race during Memorial Day Weekend.

Premiering on Friday, May 12, is the Amazon original series I Love Dick created by Jill Soloway & Sarah Gubbins based on Chris Kraus’ 1997 novel/memoir and starring Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne and Roberta Colindrez. The show’s original music is composed by Mandy Hoffman (Terri, The Lovers). Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin). He also wrote the movie’s classic songs with Howard Ashman and the new songs with lyricist Tim Rice. Also opening wide is the horror thriller The Belko Experiment directed by Greg McLean, written and produced by James Gunn and starring Tony Goldwyn, John Gallagher Jr., Adria Arjona, Michael Rooker, John C McGinley, Sean Gunn and Melonie Diaz. Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two songs performed by Jose Prieto and Gabriela Teran. David Holmes is reteaming with director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brockovich) on the upcoming comedy Logan Lucky. The film stars Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Hilary Swank, Katherine Heigl, Adam Driver, Sebastian Stan, Riley Keough, Katherine Waterston, Katie Holmes, David Denman, Jack Quaid and Seth MacFarlane. The movie follows two brothers as they set out to perform an elaborate robbery during a widely watched NASCAR race. Rebecca Blunt wrote the screenplay and Reid Carolin & Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike, The Knick, Edge of Tomorrow) and Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia, Breaking Bad) are producing the project.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime original series Billions created by Brian Koppelman & David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin and starring Paul Giamatti, Damian Lewis, Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile and Condola Rashad. The show’s original music is composed by ESKMO aka Brenden Angelides. Also premiering tonight is the mini-series Mercy Street created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel and starring Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Forbidden King) has composed the music for the 6-parter, which follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War. BBC America’s ‘London Spy’ to Feature Music by David Holmes & Keefus Ciancia

David Holmes and Keefus Ciancia have composed the music for the upcoming BBC America mini-series London Spy. The show is created by author Tom Rob Smith (Child 44) and stars Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling and Edward Holcroft. The five-parter centers around a chance romance between two people from very different worlds, one from the headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service, the other from a world of clubbing and youthful excess. Jakob Verbruggen (The Fall, The Bridge) is directing all five episodes.

David Holmes is reuniting with Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall, The Experiment, The Invasion) on the upcoming German drama Elser (13 Minutes). The film starring Christian Friedel, Katharina Schüttler, Burghart Klaußner, David Zimmerschied and Johann von Bülow tells the story of Georg Elser, a German carpenter who had assembled a bomb and plotted an attack on Hitler in November 1939, shortly after the start of World War II. Oliver Schündler & Boris Ausserer of Lucky Bird are producing the project with Fred Breinersdorfer (Sophie School of Delphi. Holmes has previously co-scored Hirschbiegel’s last feature Diana starring Naomi Watts with Keefus Ciancia.

”71′ Soundtrack Announced

Touch Sensitive Records will release a soundtrack album for the British thriller ’71. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Analyze That). The soundtrack will be released on October 10, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ’71 is directed by Yann Demange and stars Jack O’Connell, Paul Anderson, Richard Dormer, Sean Harris, Martin McCann, Charlie Murphy, Sam Reid, Killian Scott, Corey McKinley and David Wilmot. The movie tells the story of a young British soldier who becomes separated from his unit during a riot in Belfast at the height of the Troubles in 1971. The thriller premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in the UK on October 10, 2014.
