Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the live-action adventure comedy Sonic the Hedgehog directed by Jeff Fowler and starring James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Neal McDonough, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey. The film’s original music is composed by  Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel, Terminator: Dark Fate). Paramount Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally today. La-La Land Records will release a CD version soon. Also opening wide is the supernatural horror thriller Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island directed by Jeff Wadlow and starring Michael Peña, Maggie Q, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Jimmy O. Yang, Portia Doubleday, Ryan Hansen and Michael Rooker. Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) has composed the film’s original music. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. ‘Ordinary Love’ Soundtrack Details

Touch Sensitive Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Ordinary Love. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Haywire, Killing Eve, Analyze That, The Laundromat) & Brian Irvine. The soundtrack will be released on December 6, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Ordinary Love is directed by Lisa Barros D’Sa & Glenn Leyburn and stars Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville. The movie scripted by Northern Irish playwright Owen McCafferty follows a long-standing couple facing a potentially life-changing cancer diagnosis.

Soundtrack Albums for BBC America’s ‘Killing Eve’ Announced

Heavenly Recordings and Sid Gentle Films have announced the first soundtrack albums for the BBC America original series Killing Eve. The album feature selections of the original music from the show’s first two season composed by Unloved (aka composers David Holmes & Keefus Ciancia and vocalist Jade Vincent). Also included are tracks by Cigarettes After Sex, Cat’s Eyes, Fabienne Delsol, Fireflies & others. Both soundtrack will be released digitally and on vinyl on November 29. The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the animated feature Abominable directed by Jill Culton and starring Chloe Bennet, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Albert Tsai, Eddie Izzard, Sarah Paulson and Michelle Wong. The film’s original score is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Bebe Rexha, Phil Beaudreau, Coldplay & others. Click here for the full album details.

Opening semi-wide in around 450 theaters is the biographical drama Judy directed by Rupert Goold and starring Renee Zellweger, Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock, Rufus Sewell and Michael Gambon. Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain) has composed the film’s original score. A soundtrack featuring the composer’s music will be released next month and will be announced soon. David Holmes Scoring Steven Soderbergh’s ‘The Laundromat’

Composer David Holmes is reuniting with director Steven Soderbergh on the upcoming Netflix original movie The Laundromat. The film stars Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas, Sharon Stone, Alex Pettyfer, David Schwimmer, Will Forte, Robert Patrick and Jeffrey Wright. The movie tells the story of the corrupt and secret world of financial crime that was exposed by the infamous Panama Papers leak. Scott Z. Burns (Contagion, The Informant!) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Lawrence Grey (Lights Out), Gregory Jacobs (Edge of Tomorrow) and Michael Sugar (Spotlight).

David Holmes & Keefus Ciancia Win BAFTA TV Craft Award for ‘Killing Eve’

David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Haywire) & Keefus Ciancia (True Detective, The Motel Life) won their first BAFTA TV Craft Award today for her music for the BBC series Killing Eve developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sandra Oh & Jodie Comer. The composers accepted their award in person last night at the ceremony at the Brewery in London. Check out their acceptance speech after the jump. The other nominees in the Original Music category were Cho Young-Wuk for The Little Drummer Girl, Murray Gold for A Very English Scandal and Hauschka for Patrick Melrose.

Soundtrack Album for HBO’s ‘Mosaic’ to Be Released

Touch Sensitive will release a soundtrack album for the HBO original series Mosaic. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Haywire, Logan Lucky, Killing Eve, Analyze That). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on July 27, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mosaic is created by Steven Soderbergh & Ed Solomon and stars Sharon Stone, Garrett Hedlund, Frederick Weller, Beau Bridges, Paul Reubens, Jennifer Ferrin, Devin Ratray, Michael Cerveris and James Ransone.

David Holmes (Ocean’s trilogy, Out of Sight, Logan Lucky, Hunger, ’71) is scoring the upcoming BBC American original series Killing Eve. The show is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Crashing) and stars Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, David Haig, Kim Bodnia, Darren Boyd, Sean Delaney, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Owen McDonnell. The thriller centers on two women: a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 officer whose desk job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy, and a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her.
