Premiering tonight is the second season of the HBO original series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty created by Max Borenstein & Jim Hecht and starring John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Jason Clarke, Adrien Brody, Gaby Hoffmann, Hadley Robinson, Jason Segel, Michael Chiklis and Rob Morgan. Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Rome, Monk, Carnivale, Pollock) has joined Robert Glasper (who shared scoring credit on Season 1 with Nicholas Britell) to co-score the new season. The drama will air Sunday nights on HBO and will also be available to stream on Max.
Premiering on Wednesday, August 9, is the Apple TV+ original animated series Strange Planet created by Dan Harmon & Nathan W. Pyle and starring Tunde Adebimpe, Demi Adejuyigbe, Danny Pudi, Lori Tan Chinn and Hannah Einbinder. Roger Suen (Blue Bayou, Spy Intervention Gook, Ms. Purple, A Kid from Coney Island) has recently been scoring the new Paramount+ original movie Love in Taipei. The film is directed by Arvin Chen (Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?) and stars Ashley Liao, Ross Butler, Nico Hiraga, Chelsea Zhang and Cindy Cheung. The YA romance is based on Abigail Hing Wen’s best-selling novel Loveboat, Taipei and follows a young American woman who is sent by her parents to a cultural immersion program in Taipei, where she begins a new journey of self-discovery and romance.

Blue Bayou is written and directed by Justin Chon and stars Chon himself, alongside Alicia Vikander, Mark O’Brien, Linh Dan Pham and Emory Cohen. The movie tells the story of a Korean adoptee raised in a small town in the Louisiana bayou whomust confront the ghosts of his past when he discovers that he could be deported from the only country he has ever called home.

Composer Roger Suen is reteaming with director Justin Chon on the upcoming drama Blue Bayou. The film is written and directed by Chon and stars Chon himself, alongside Alicia Vikander, Mark O’Brien, Linh Dan Pham and Emory Cohen. The movie tells the story of a Korean adoptee raised in the United States who is forced to confront his distant past and what it means for his own future and his family’s when he unexpectedly faces deportation. Chon is also producing the project with Charles D. King (Sorry to Bother You, Mudbound), Poppy Hanks (Tigertail) and Kim Roth (American Made, Tower Heist).

‘Spy Intervention’ Soundtrack Details
Notefornote Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the romantic action comedy Spy Intervention. The album features the film’s original music composed by Roger Suen (Gook, Miss Purple). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, February 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Spy Intervention is directed by Drew Mylrea and stars Drew Van Acker, Poppy Delevingne, Blake Anderson, Natasha Bassett, Max Silvestri, Brittany Furlan, Dave Sheridan and Brian Sacca. The movie revolves around the world’s greatest spy who suddenly meets the woman of his dreams and decides to abandon his adventurous existence and settles for the security of suburbia.
