Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Jon Voight, Dan Fogler, Carmen Ejogo and Alison Sudol. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Maleficent). Also opening wide is the coming-of-age comedy drama The Edge of Seventeen written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, produced by James L. Brooks and starring Hailee Steinfeld, Woody Harrelson, Kyra Sedgwick, Haley Lu Richardson, Blake Jenner and Hayden Szeto. Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) has composed the film’s original score. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Santigold, Aimee Mann, The Struts, A$AP Ferg & more. ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Music will release a soundtrack album for the Britsh comedy A Street Cat Named Bob. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee David Hirschfelder (Elizabeth, Shine, Australia, The Railway Man, The Water Diviner). Also included are the original songs from the movie written by Charlie Fink (best known for fronting the indie band Noah and the Whale) and performed by lead actor Luke Treadaway. The soundtrack will be released overseas on October 28, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A Street Cat Named Bob is directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies) and stars Treadaway, Ruta Gedmintas, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the western The Magnificent Seven directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee and Peter Sarsgaard. The film’s original music is composed by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart) and Simon Franglen. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Surf’s Up) and Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur) have composed the film’s original music. David Hirschfelder is scoring the upcoming comedy drama A Street Cat Named Bob. The film is directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies, Turner & Hooch, The 6th Day) and stars Luke Treadaway, Ruta Gedmintas, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head. The movie is based on James Bowen’s bestselling novel and tells the true story of the unlikely friendship between a young homeless busker and a stray ginger cat named Bob who changed his life. Tim John (Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde) and Maria Nation have written the screenplay. Adam Rolston is producing the project.

The album features the film’s original score composed by David Hirschfelder (Elizabeth, Australia, The Railway Man), as well as additional music by Ludovico Einaudi (The Intouchables, Samba), Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Whale Rider) and Richard Tognetti. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the romantic drama The Age of Adaline directed by Lee Toland Krieger and starring Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn. The film’s original music is composed by Rob Simonsen (Foxcatcher, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the end credits song Start Again. The movie is based on Amanda Hampson’s bestselling novel of the same title and follows a successful New York businesswoman whose life falls apart and is forced to move to the small rural community of Duffy’s Creek, Australia and the run-down olive grove she has inherited from her grandparents.

David Hirschfelder is set to score the upcoming period comedy The Dressmaker. The film is written and directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse and stars Kate Winslet, Judy Davis, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving, Caroline Goodall, Shane Bourne, Kerry Fox, Rebecca Gibney, Alison Whyte, Sacha Horler, Shane Jacobson, Genevieve Lemon and Sarah Snook. The movie based on the best-selling novel by Rosalie Ham is set in the 1950s and follows an avenging angel who returns home to the remote country town from which she escaped as a child after being accused of murder, to make amends with her eccentric mother. Sue Maslin (Japanese Story) is producing the project.

David Hirschfelder has recently recorded his score for the upcoming historical drama The Water Diviner. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Russell Crowe who also stars in the film as an Australian farmer who – four years after Turkey’s Battle of Gallipoli during World War I – travels to Istanbul to discover the fate of his sons who are reported missing in action. Olga Kurylenko, Jai Courtney and Isabel Lucas are co-starring. Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastasios have written the screenplay. Andrew Mason (Dark City, Adore, I, Frankenstein) and Troy Lum are producing the project for Hopscotch Features, alongside Keith Rodger for Crowe’s Fear of God Films. James Packer and Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand) are executive producing for RatPac Entertainment.
