Premiering tonight is the HBO docu-series The Vow directed and executive produced by Jehane Noujaim & Karim Amer about the self-improvement group NXIVM, whose leaders have been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The show’s original music is composed by Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, Pose, Scream Queens, The Politician). Check out our previous news article for more information about the 9-parter, which will air every Sunday night on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Premiering on Wednesday, August 26 is the Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix directed by Ian Bonhote & Peter Ettedgui about the Paralympic Games and its evolution from the rubble of World War II to the third biggest sporting event on the planet. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Steve Jobs, Birds of Prey, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword). 1812 Recordings will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Wednesday (click here for the full album details) and the original title song by Pemberton, Georgetragic, Toni Hickman & Keith Jones is already available as a digital single now (click here to listen to the track).

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the faith-based drama I Still Believe directed by Jon & Andrew Erwin and also stars KJ Apa, Britt Robertson, Shania Twain and Gary Sinise. The film’s original score is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus). Capitol Records has released a soundtrack album featuring five tracks from the composer’s score, as well as the Jeremy Camp songs from the movie performed by Apa, as well as other tracks by Apa. Also opening wide is the thriller The Hunt directed by Craig Zobel and starring Betty Gilpin, Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts, Hilary Swank, Glenn Howerton, Amy Madigan and Ethan Suplee. Nathan Barr (True Blood, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hostel, The Americans, Cabin Fever, Carnival Row) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Never Rarely Sometimes Always’ Soundtrack Details

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always. The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Julia Holter (Bleed for This, Pure). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 13 and will be available to stream/download here. Never Rarely Sometimes Always is written and directed by Eliza Hittman (Beach Rats) and stars Sidney Flanigan, Talia Ryder, Théodore Pellerin, Ryan Eggold and Sharon Van Etten. The movie centers on two teenage girls in rural Pennsylvania who travel to New York City to seek out medical help after an unintended pregnancy. The drama premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released in select theaters this weekend by Focus Features.

The film is written and directed by Eliza Hittman (Beach Rats) and stars Sidney Flanigan, Talia Ryder, Théodore Pellerin, Ryan Eggold and Sharon Van Etten. The movie revolves around two teenage girls in rural Pennsylvania who travel to New York City to seek out medical help after an unintended pregnancy. Adele Romanski (Moonlight, Under the Silver Lake) and Sara Murphy (If Beale Street Could Talk, Gemini) are producing the project.

The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Maleficent).
