The full details of the soundtrack album for Joe Wright’s biographical drama Darkest Hour have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Kubo and the Two Strings, V for Vendetta, Paddington 2) who previously scored the director’s Atonement, Pride and Prejudice and Anna Karenina. Vikingur Olafsson is featured as the piano soloist on the composer’s score. The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, November 17 by Deutsche Grammophon. Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the family movie Paddington 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Kubo and the Two Strings, Anna Karenina). Also included are the songs from the film performed by Tobago and d’Lime. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 10 and physically a couple of weeks later. Dario Marianelli to Score ‘Paddington 2’
Dario Marianelli has been tapped to score the upcoming family movie sequel Paddington 2. The film is directed by Paul King who previously helmed the 2014 original movie and stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Imelda Staunton, as well as Ben Whishaw as the voice of the title character. They are joined by new cast members Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson. The movie finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens. While searching for the perfect present for his aunt’s hundredth birthday, Paddington embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop.

Dario Marianelli to Score Joe Wright’s ‘Darkest Hour’
Working Title Films and Focus Features announced today that Dario Marianelli will be reteaming with director Joe Wright on the upcoming historical drama Darkest Hour. The film stars Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill, alongside John Hurt as Neville Chamberlain, Lily James as Churchill’s personal secretary, Ben Mendelsohn as King George VI and Kristin Scott Thomas as Churchill’s wife, Clementine. The movie follows Churchill as he leads a charge against Adolf Hitler’s army in the early days of World War II. Anthony McCarten (Theory of Everything, Death of a Superhero) wrote the screenplay. He is also producing the project with Lisa Bruce and Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Les Miserables, Frost/Nixon, Love Actually, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

War Dogs follows two friends in their early 20s during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Warner Bros. Records will release a soundtrack album for Laika’s animated feature Kubo and the Two Strings. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, V for Vendetta, Jane Eyre) who previously scored Laika’s The Boxtrolls. Also included is a cover of the song While My Guitar Gently Weeps performed by Regina Spektor and recorded specifically for the movie. The soundtrack will be released on August 5, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dario Marianelli’s ‘In This World’ Score to Be Released
MovieScore Media will release the first soundtrack album for Michael Winterbottom’s 2002 drama In This World. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina, The Boxtrolls). The soundtrack will be released on March 25, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. In This World stars Jamal Udin Torabi, Enayatullah, Imran Paracha, Hiddayatullah, Allah Bauhsh, Hossain Baghaeian, Yaaghoob Nosraj Poor, Ghodrat Poor, Kerem Atabeyoglu, Erham Sekizcan and Nabil Elouahabi.
