The full details of the soundtrack album for the musical fantasy adventure Wonka have been revealed. The album features the original songs from the film written by Neil Hannon (of the band The Divine Comedy) and performed by cast members including Timothée Chalamet, Hugh Grant, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton & others, as well as a new versions of Pure Imagination & Oompa Loompa (written by Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley for 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory). Also included is the movie’s original score composed by Joby Talbot (Sing, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Penelope, Closed Circuit, Son of Rambow). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 8 by WaterTower Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Joby Talbot Scoring Paul King’s ‘Wonka’
Over the past week, Joby Talbot (Sing, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Closed Circuit, Penelope, Son of Rambow) has been recording his underscore for the upcoming musical fantasy adventure Wonka. The film is directed by Paul King (Paddington) and stars Timothée Chalamet, Rowan Atkinson, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Jim Carter, Tom Davis, Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby and Natasha Rothwell. As previously reported, Neil Hannon (who previously worked with Talbot who was a member of the singer/songwriter’s band The Divine Comedy in the 1990s and early 2000s) has written the original songs for the movie, which takes place before the events of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and follows the title character on one his earliest adventures.

Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Neil Hannon (of the band The Divine Comedy) is writing original songs for the upcoming fantasy movie Wonka. The film is directed by Paul King (Paddington) and stars Timothée Chalamet, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Mathew Baynton, Jim Carter, Tom Davi, Simon Farnaby (who also co-wrote the screenplay with King), Rich Fulcher, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar and Ellie White. The movie is based on characters by Roald Dahl, including Willy Wonka, and will take place before the events of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Dario Marianelli to Score ‘Paddington 2’
Dario Marianelli has been tapped to score the upcoming family movie sequel Paddington 2. The film is directed by Paul King who previously helmed the 2014 original movie and stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Imelda Staunton, as well as Ben Whishaw as the voice of the title character. They are joined by new cast members Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson. The movie finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens. While searching for the perfect present for his aunt’s hundredth birthday, Paddington embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop.
