Premiering on Tuesday, January 7, is the new CBS drama Intelligence created by Michael Seitzman, executive produced by Tripp Vinson and David Semel and starring Josh Holloway, Meghan Ory, John Billingsley, PJ Byrne, Michael Rady and Marg Helgenberger. The show’s original score is composed by Clinton Shorter (District 9, Contraband, 2 Guns). Atli Orvarsson Scoring NBC’s ‘Chicago PD’
Atli Orvarsson is scoring the new NBC drama Chicago PD. The show is created by Dick Wolf (Law & Order) & Matt Olmstead (Prison Break, Breakout Kings) and stars Jason Beghe, Sophia Bush, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins, Archie Kao, Elias Koteas, Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer and Marina Squerciati. The series is a spin-off of NBC’s hit drama Chicago Fire, which the composer whose previous credits include such films as Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point and The Mortal Instruments, has been scoring since the first episode. The crime drama follows the men and women of the Chicago Police Department’s District 21, which is made up of two distinctly different groups: the uniformed cops who patrol the beat and go head-to-head with the city’s street crimes and the Intelligence Unit that combats the city’s major offenses.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the dramatic thriller Prisoners directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Terrance Howard, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano. Jóhann Jóhannsson (Personal Effects, For Ellen) has composed the film’s score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. Also opening wide is the dance drama Battle of the Year directed by Benson Lee and starring Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, Josh Peck, Caity Lotz and Chris Brown. The film’s original score is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Revolution, Identity Thief). Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the film earlier this week. The album features a suite from the composer’s score, as well as the songs featured in the movie by such artists as The Roots, Chubb Rock, Kool Kojak, Speedometer, Digital Underground and PC’s Ltd. ‘A Single Shot’ Soundtrack Details
MovieScore Media and Kronos Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller A Single Shot. The album features the film’s original music composed by Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 17, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD is set to be released later this year. Check out audio clips after the jump. A Single Shot is directed by David M. Rosenthal and stars Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy, Jeffery Wright, Jason Isaacs and Kelly Reilly. The movie follows a wild-game poacher who makes a fatal mistake that leaves him with a suitcase full of blood money and hardened killers on his trail. The thriller is now available on VOD and is set to be released in theaters on September 20 by Tribeca Film.
‘Colette’ Soundtrack Announced
MovieScore Media and Kronos Records will release a soundtrack album for the Czech/Slovakian drama Colette. The album features the film’s original music composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 10, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical version is set to be released on October 8. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Colette directed by Milan Cieslar is based on the novel A Girl from Antwerp by Pulitzer Prize nominated author Arnošt Lustig. The movie tells the story of Vili, a Holocaust survivor who shares his memories of Colette, a Belgian Jewess who happened to be his first true love. The drama will be released in the Czech Republic on September 12 and an international release is expected later this year.

Opening in most theaters is DreamWorks Animation’s latest feature Turbo is directed by David Soren and featuring the voice talent of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith, Snoop Dogg and Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s original score is composed by Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class). Relativity Music Group has released three different soundtrack editions for the film: a regular edition featuring the songs from the film, as well as selections of Jackman’s music, a deluxe edition featuring more score and a score-only album.
Expected to top the weekend box office is the horror thriller The Conjuring directed by James Wan and starring Lili Taylor, Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver and Sterling Jerins. Joseph Bishara (Insidious, Dark Skies) has composed the film’s score. ‘Evidence’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the horror thriller Evidence. The album features the film’s original score composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 23, 2013. Check back on this page for audio clips to be added to this article within the next week. Evidence is directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi who previously collaborated with Orvarsson on The Fourth Kind. The movie starring Stephen Moyer, Radha Mitchell, Torrey DeVitto and Caitlin Stasey follows a team of detectives who attempt to piece together what happened at the scene of a brutal massacre using a number of recording devices found at the crime scene. The thriller will be released in select theaters and on VOD this Friday, July 19 by Image Entertainment.

Atli Örvarsson to Score ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’
Atli Örvarsson has taken over scoring duties on the fantasy adventure The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The film is directed by Harald Zwart and stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Lena Headey, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Aidan Turner, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Durand and Jared Harris. The movie is based on the first book of the bestselling Young Adult book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and follows a teen who discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. Jessica Postigo has adapted the material for the screen. Don Carmody (Silent Hill, Resident Evil: Afterlife) and Robert Kulzer (The Three Musketeers) are producing the Constantin Film and Unique Features production.
