Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action comedy Men in Black: International directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Larry Bourgeois, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland) & Chris Bacon (Source Code, Gnomeo & Juliet). Also opening wide is the Shaft sequel directed by Tim Story and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jesse T. Usher, Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Lauria, Titus Welliver, Cliff “Method Man” Smith and Richard Roundtree. Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie (including the original track Too Much Shaft performed by Quavo with Saweetie). The indie rock band Real Estate will be contributing original songs to the upcoming romantic comedy Plus One. The film is written and directed by Andrew Rhymer & Jeff Chan and stars Jack Quaid, Maya Erskine, Ed Begley Jr, Perrey Reeves, Finn Wittrock, Rosalind Chao, Jon Bass and Beck Bennett. The movie centers on a a couple of friends in their 20s who help each other get through a parade of insufferable weddings. Ben Stiller, Nicholas Weinstock & Jackie Cohn are executive producing the project for Red Hour Films, alongside Dan Weinstein, Michael Schreiber & Amee Dolleman for Studio71. 
Varese Sarabande Records has announced a soundtrack album for the supernatural thriller +1 (Plus One). The album features the film’s original score composed by Nathan Larson (Boys Don’t Cry, Silent House). The soundtrack is now available to download on 
Expected to top the weekend box office is the dramatic thriller Prisoners directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Terrance Howard, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano. Also opening wide is the dance drama Battle of the Year directed by Benson Lee and starring Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, Josh Peck, Caity Lotz and Chris Brown. The film’s original score is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Revolution, Identity Thief). Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the film earlier this week. The album features a suite from the composer’s score, as well as the songs featured in the movie by such artists as The Roots, Chubb Rock, Kool Kojak, Speedometer, Digital Underground and PC’s Ltd.
