Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action comedy Men in Black: International directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Larry Bourgeois, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (BatmanSpider-ManAlice in Wonderland) & Chris Bacon (Source CodeGnomeo & Juliet). Also opening wide is the Shaft sequel directed by Tim Story and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jesse T. Usher, Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Lauria, Titus Welliver, Cliff “Method Man” Smith and Richard Roundtree. Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie (including the original track Too Much Shaft performed by Quavo with Saweetie). Also opening wide is the horror comedy The Dead Don’t Die written and directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Iggy Pop, Selena Gomez and Tom Waits. The film’s original music is composed by SQÜRL (aka Jim Jarmusch & Chris Logan) (Paterson). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details) and Elektra Records has released an original song performed by Sturgill Simpson (click here for more information).

Opening in limited release is the drama American Woman directed by Jake Scott and starring Sienna Miller, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Paul and Amy Madigan. Adam Wiltzie (Whitney, God’s Own Country, The Yellow Birds) has composed the film’s original music. Artificial Pinearch Manufacturing has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in limited release is the romantic comedy Plus One written and directed by Jeff Chan & Andrew Rhymer and starring Maya Erskine, Jack Quaid, Beck Bennett, Rosalind Chao, Perrey Reeves and Ed Begley Jr. The film’s original score is composed by Leo Birenberg (Cobra Kai, Son of Zorn, PEN15Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny). Also opening select U.S. theaters is the romantic drama Hampstead directed by Joel Hopkins and starring Diane Keaton, Brendan Gleeson and James Norton. Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in LoveQuillsCaptain Corelli’s MandolinBilly ElliottProof) has composed the film’s original music. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score in 2017 when the movie opened overseas. Also opening in select cities is the indie comedy Being Frank directed by Miranda Bailey and starring Jim Gaffigan, Logan Miller, Anna Gunn, Samantha Mathis, Alex Karpovsky and Danielle Campbell. The film’s original music is composed by Craig Richey (Friends with MoneyLovely & AmazingGirl on a Bicycle). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Another limited release this week is the thriller Daughter of the Wolf directed by David Hackl and starring Richard Dreyfuss, Gina Carano, Brendan Fehr, Anton Gillis-Adelman and Sydelle Noel. Jeff Toyne (Rogue, Dirty Girl, 9/11, You Me Her) has composed the film’s original music.
