Dogwood Lane Records has released a soundtrack album for the Canadian drama They Who Surround Us. The album features the film’s original music composed by Craig Richey (Friends with Money, The September Issue, Lovely & Amazing, You Can Choose Your Family, Girl on a Bicycle). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s end credits track after the jump. They Who Surround Us is written and directed by Troy Ruptash and stars Ruptash himself, Ali Liebert, Vera Graziadei, Daniel Mazepa and Alex Feldman.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British mini-series Quiz directed by Stephen Frears, written by James Graham and stars Matthew Macfadyen, Michael Sheen, Sian Clifford, Mark Bonnar, Helen McCrory, Michael Jibson and Aisling Bea. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Gentleman Jack, Torchwood, Years and Years). Premiering on Friday, June 5, is the Apple TV+ docu-series Dear… executive produced by R.J. Cutler, Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson, Jane Cha and Lyle Gamm. Craig Richey (Friends with Money, Lovely & Amazing, The September Issue, Girl on a Bicycle) is composing the show’s original music. The series, which takes an inventive approach to biographies of the most iconic figures in society today by using letters written by those whose lives have been changed through their work and profiles internationally recognized leaders including Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Stevie Wonder & others will be available to stream exclusively on Apple TV+.

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action comedy Men in Black: International directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Larry Bourgeois, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland) & Chris Bacon (Source Code, Gnomeo & Juliet). Also opening wide is the Shaft sequel directed by Tim Story and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jesse T. Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Being Frank’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Being Frank. The album features the film’s original music composed by Craig Richey (Friends with Money, Lovely & Amazing, Girl on a Bicycle). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 14 and will be available to download here. Being Frank is directed by Miranda Bailey and stars Jim Gaffigan, Logan Miller, Anna Gunn, Samantha Mathis, Alex Karpovsky and Danielle Campbell. The movie revolves around a seventeen-year-old boy who blackmails his father after discovering his secret second family.
Craig Richey Scoring Miranda Bailey’s ‘You Can Choose Your Family’
Craig Richey has composed the original score for the upcoming comedy You Can Choose Your Family. The film marks the narrative feature directorial debut of producer Miranda Bailey (Swiss Army Man, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Norman) and stars Jim Gaffigan, Logan Miller, Anna Gunn, Samantha Mathis, Alex Karpovsky, Hayes MacArthur and Michelle Hurd. The movie revolves around a seventeen-year-old boy who blackmails his father after discovering his secret second family. Glen Lakin wrote the screenplay.
‘No Pay, Nudity’ Soundtrack Released
Dogwood Lane Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie comedy drama No Pay, Nudity. The album features the film’s original music composed by Craig Richey (Friends with Money, Lovely & Amazing, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. No Pay, Nudity is directed by Lee Wilkof and stars Gabriel Byrne, Nathan Lane, Frances Conroy and Donna Murphy. The movie follows a middle-aged actor who has lost his way and returns to his hometown in Dayton, Ohio, to play the fool in “King Lear” and connects with an old girlfriend.

Already in theaters since Wednesday is the sci-fi action movie RoboCop directed by José Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams and Samuel L. Jackson. Pedro Bromfman who previously scored Padilha’s Elite Squad movies has composed the film’s original score. ‘Girl on a Bicycle’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Girl on a Bicycle. The album features the film’s original music composed by Craig Richey (Friends with Money, Lovely & Amazing, The September Issue). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Girl on a Bicycle is written and directed by Jeremy Leven (screenwriter of The Notebook) and stars Nora Tschirner, Vincenzo Amato, Paddy Considine, Louise Monot and Stéphane Debac. The movie centers on an Italian tour bus driver in Paris who becomes infatuated and obsessed with the title character to comic and chaotic effect. The comedy will be released this Friday, February 14 by Monterey Media.
Craig Richey to Score ‘Uncanny’
Craig Richey is scoring the upcoming indie sci-fi thriller Uncanny. The film is directed by Matthew Leutwyler and stars Mark Webber, David Rogers, Lucy Griffiths and Rainn Wilson. The movie follows a technology reporter who gets a week of exclusive access to the world’s first perfect artificial intelligence. Shahin Chandrasoma has written the screenplay and Sim Sarna is producing the Ambush Entertainment production. Richey has previously collaborated with Leutwyler on his last feature Answers to Nothing and has also scored Ambush’s Wonderful World. Uncanny was shot this summer in Los Angeles and is now in post-production.

While there are no movies opening wide this weekend, a number of films are receiving a limited release:
The most talked about movie opening this week is the drama Shame directed by Steve McQueen and starring Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale, Nicole Beharie and Hannah Ware. The film’s score is composed by Harry Escott. A soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the score, as well as several songs from the film performed by artists including Blondie, Howlin’ Wolf and actress Carey Mulligan will be released on December 6 by Sony Music. Receiving an Oscar qualifying run this weekend before opening wider next year is the drama The Lady directed by Luc Besson and starring Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis. The film’s music is written by the director’s regular musical collaborator Eric Serra. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the song Soldier of Love by Sade has been released overseas by Strategic Marketing Group.
