Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action comedy Men in Black: International directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Larry Bourgeois, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland) & Chris Bacon (Source Code, Gnomeo & Juliet). Also opening wide is the Shaft sequel directed by Tim Story and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jesse T. Usher, Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Lauria, Titus Welliver, Cliff “Method Man” Smith and Richard Roundtree. Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie (including the original track Too Much Shaft performed by Quavo with Saweetie). Adam Wiltzie has been tapped to score the upcoming documentary Whitney. The film directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void, State of Play) and takes an in-depth look at the life and career of Whitney Houston who broke more records than any other female singer in the history of popular music, with over 200 million album sales worldwide, and inspired a generation of singers from Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga to Beyoncé. The movie, which marks the first documentary to be officially authorized by Houston’s estate, is produced by Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man), Jonathan Chinn (LA 92) and Lisa Erspamer. 
Adam Wiltzie (The Yellow Birds, God’s Own Country, Iris) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Burning Woman. The film is directed by Jake Scott (Welcome to the Rileys, Plunkett & Macleane) and stars Sienna Miller, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Paul, Will Sasso, Amy Madigan, Pat Healy, Ken Marino, Sky Ferreira, and Macon Blair. The movie tells the story of a woman whose life is changed when her teenage daughter mysteriously disappears and she is left to raise her young grandson. Brad Ingelsby (Run All Night, Out of the Furnace) wrote the screenplay. 
Expected to top the weekend box office is the horror thriller Jigsaw directed by Peter & Michael Spierig and starring Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Clé Bennett, Hannah Emily Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, Mandela Van Peebles, Paul Braunstein, Brittany Allen and Josiah Black. Charlie Clouser (Wayward Pines, Resident Evil: Extinction) who previously scored all movies in the Saw series has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. 
Also opening wide is the comedy drama Suburbicon co-writtten and directed by Clooney and starring Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Noah Jupe and Oscar Isaac. The film’s original music is composed and conducted by Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows).
