Tom Hodge (McMafia, The Ipcress File, Cleaner, Name Me Lawand, Je Suis Karl) has composed the original music for the British psychological thriller The Runner. The film is directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void) and stars Gal Gadot, Damian Lewis, Rory Wilmot and Alfred Enoch. The movie follows a high-powered lawyer at the top of London’s legal world who finds out that her son be been taken during her routine morning run and is forced to sprint through the city and obey a series of sinister commands to bring him back.

Buck Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 2003 documentary Touching the Void directed by Kevin Macdonald. The album features the remixed and newly remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Queen of Katwe, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, The Regime, 11.22.63, Roots, The Rite, State of Play). Klitschko: More Than a Fight is directed by Kevin Macdonald & Edgar Dubrovskiy and centers on the lives of former heavyweight boxing world champions, Vitali & Wladimir Klitschko, who together dominated the sport for more than a decade. The movie follows Vitali’s journey from the ring to political office, ultimately leading the defense of the capital when it was attacked by Russian forces in February 2022.

High & Low: John Galliano is directed by Kevin Macdonald and charts the rise-and-fall story of fashion designer John Galliano who was widely recognized as one of the most successful names in 1990s and 2000s couture, until his career abruptly ended when he was caught on camera in 2011 hurling antisemitic and racist insults at bystanders in Paris.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the drama The Mauritanian. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tom Hodge (McMafia, Rise of the Nazis, The Man Behind the Microphone). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 12 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music store. The Mauritanian is directed by Kevin Macdonald and stars Jodie Foster, Tahar Rahim, Zachary Levi, Saamer Usmani, Shailene Woodley and Benedict Cumberbatch. The movie is based on th NY Times best-selling memoir Guantanamo Diary by Mohamedou Ould Slahi and tells the true story of Slahi’s fight for freedom after being detained and imprisoned without charge by the U.S. Government for years.
Harry Gregson-Williams Scoring Kevin Macdonald’s ‘Life in a Day 2020’
Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Mulan, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire) is composing original music for the upcoming documentary Life in a Day 2020. The film is directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void) and follows the concept of the original 2011 Life in a Day movie. The crowdsourced documentary is compiled from 15,000 hours of footage captured on July 25, 2020 and submitted from 192 countries. Jack Arbuthnott (The Aftermath, Lords of Chaos) and Tim Partridge are producing the project. Ridley Scott serves as an executive producer.

The movie is based on Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s memoir Guantánamo Diary and centers on detainee at the U.S military’s Guantanamo Bay detention center a who languishes in prison for years without charge or trial until he finds allies in a defense attorney and her associate. Michael Bronner, Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani (Informer) wrote the screenplay.

Adam Wiltzie has been tapped to score the upcoming documentary Whitney. The film directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void, State of Play) and takes an in-depth look at the life and career of Whitney Houston who broke more records than any other female singer in the history of popular music, with over 200 million album sales worldwide, and inspired a generation of singers from Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga to Beyoncé. The movie, which marks the first documentary to be officially authorized by Houston’s estate, is produced by Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man), Jonathan Chinn (LA 92) and Lisa Erspamer.

Alex Heffes has been hired to score the upcoming drama Queen of Katwe. The film is directed by Mira Nair (Vanity Fair, The Namesake, Amelia, Monsoon Wedding) and stars Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo. The movie is based on Tim Crothers’ 2011 ESPN The Magazine article and book The Queen of Katwe: A Story of Life, Chess, and One Extraordinary Girl’s Dream of Becoming a Grandmaster and tells the story of Ugandan chess prodigy Phiona Mutes who became a Woman Candidate Master after her performance at the World Chess Olympiad.

Alex Heffes has been tapped to score the upcoming Hulu event series 11/22/63. The show is based on Stephen King’s 2011 novel of the same title and stars James Franco, Sarah Gadon, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Daniel Webber, Chris Cooper, Cherry Jones, George MacKay, Lucy Fry, Jack Fulton and Leon Rippy. The 9-parter follows a high school English teacher who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald and his falling in love and the past itself. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek, Super 8) and King are executive producing the Bad Robot and Warner Bros.
