Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters Pixar’s animated feature Incredibles 2 directed by Brad Bird and featuring the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner and Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (UpRatatouilleInside OutStar TrekLostJurassic WorldRogue One: A Star Wars Story). Also opening wide is the comedy Tag directed by Jeff Tomsic and starring Ed Helms, Jeremy Renner, Hannibal Buress, Isla Fisher, Jake Johnson, Jon Hamm, Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones and Leslie Bibb. Germaine Franco (Dope, Vida) has composed the film’s original music. Already in theaters since Wednesday is the Superfly remake directed by Director X and starring Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell, Michael Kenneth Williams, Lex Scott Davis and Jennifer Morrison. The film’s original score is composed by Josh Atchley. Future serves as the movie’s music producer and has contributed several original tracks. Opening semi-wide in around 500 theaters is the biographical drama Gotti directed by Kevin Connolly and starring John Travolta,  Kelly Preston, Ella Bleu Travolta, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Stacy Keach, Chris Mulkey, Lydia Hull and Spencer Lofranco. Pitbull (aka Armando Christian Perez) and Jorge Gomez have composed the film’s original score. Opening in limited release is the drama The Yellow Birds directed by Alexandre Moors and starring Tye Sheridan, Alden Ehrenreich, Toni Collette, Jason Patric, Jack Huston and Jennifer Aniston. The film’s original music is composed by Adam Wiltzie (God’s Own Country, Whitney) and Adam Peters (Savages, Icarus, Snowden). No soundtrack album has been announced. The drama premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released in theaters and on VOD by Lionsgate and Saban Films.

Opening in New York before expanding to other markets within the next couple of weeks is the documentary Eating Animals directed by Christopher Quinn based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s memoir and narrated by Natalie Portman. Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Strange Angel) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been released. The documentary premiered at last year’s Telluride Film Festival and is being released by IFC Films. Visit the official movie website for more information.

Also opening in select cities is the indie drama Billy Boy directed by Bradley Buecker and starring Blake Jenner (who also wrote the screenplay), Melissa Benoist, Grant Harvey, Nick Eversman, Nathaniel Stroud, Melissa Bolona, Greg Germann, Jim Beaver, Brenda Bakke and Brad Hunt. The film’s original score is composed by James S. Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck, Star, American Horror Story, Damages). No word on a soundtrack release. Also opening in select theaters is the action thriller China Salesman written and directed by Tan Bing and starring Mike Tyson, Steven Seagal, Dong-Xue Li, Janicke Askevold, Li Ai and Eriq Ebouaney. Cleopatra Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs inspired by the movie by Tyson & DMX,  Mozzy & Gunplay, Vado & Dave East & more.
