IFC and Lakeshore Records have announced a soundtrack EP for the Documentary Now! episode Original Cast Album: Co-op. The 6-track EP features the songs from the episode written by Eli Bolin and featuring lyrics by John Mulaney & Seth Meyers and orchestrations by Mike Pettry, including the track Holiday Party (I Did a Little Cocaine Tonight), which has been nominated for an Emmy Award earlier this week in the Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics category. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, July 26 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Premiering on Wednesday, November 2, is the new IFC original series Stan Against Evil created by Dana Gould and starring John C. McGinley, Janet Varney, Nate Mooney, Deborah Baker Jr. and Mick Ignis. The show’s original music is composed by Eban Schletter (SpongeBob Square Pants, Another Period). The horror comedy follows a former sheriff of a small New England town who teams up with his younger replacement to investigate a series of supernatural occurrences. Premiering on Friday, November 4, is the Netflix original series The Crown created by Peter Morgan and starring Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby and John Lithgow. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight) has composed the show’s main theme and Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Hotel Rwanda) has composed the original score. Premiering on Wednesday, July 8, is the mini-series The Spoils Before Dying created by Matt Piedmont & Andrew Steele and starring Will Ferrell. Michael Kenneth Williams, Kristen Wiig, Haley Joel Osment, Maya Rudolph, Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer, Andy Daly, Tim Meadows, Chris Parnell and Marc Evan Jackson. Andrew Feltenstein & John Nau (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Casa de mi Padre) who previously scored last year’s original The Spoils of Babylon have composed the 6-parter’s original music. The Spoils Before Dying follows a 1950s jazz pianist-turned-private eye who becomes embroiled in a murder investigation and will air Thursday nights on IFC. Premiering on Tuesday, January 7, is the new CBS drama Intelligence created by Michael Seitzman, executive produced by Tripp Vinson and David Semel and starring Josh Holloway, Meghan Ory, John Billingsley, PJ Byrne, Michael Rady and Marg Helgenberger. The show’s original score is composed by Clinton Shorter (District 9, Contraband, 2 Guns). Andrew Feltenstein & John Nau Scoring IFC’s ‘The Spoils of Babylon’
Andrew Feltenstein and John Nau are composing the music for the IFC comedy mini-series The Spoils of Babylon. The six part-series is created by Matt Piedmont and Andrew Steele and stars Will Ferrell, Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Sheen, Tim Robbins and Kristen Wiig. The Funny or Die production is a parody of an “epic” mini-series about a war-torn oil dynasty, in the vein of The Thorn Birds and Winds of War. Piedmont and Steele are also executive producing the project with Ferrell, Adam McKay (Talladega Nights, The Other Guys) and Nate Young. Feltenstein and Nau have previously written the music for Piedmont’s Casa de mi Padre and McKay’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which just opened in theaters this weekend.
