Sony Classical has announced a soundtrack album for Cary Fukunaga’s upcoming adaptation of Jane Eyre. The album includes the film’s original score by Dario Marianelli featuring violinist Jack Liebeck. The soundtrack will be released on March 8. To pre-order the album, visit Amazon. According to Badass Digest, Alan Menken is involved in Joe Johnston’s upcoming comic book adaptation of Captain America: The First Avenger. The site doesn’t mention any specifics about Menken’s involvment, but it is expected that he would write a song or songs for the time when Captain America is in the USO. There have been many rumors going around about the composer of the score for the movie, but the last thing we’ve heard is that several composers have been approached to write the score, but there is still no official composer on board at this time. We will be posting an update as soon as we’ll find out more information. Dickon Hinchliffe has recently finished the score for the upcoming thriller The Fields. The movie marks the first major feature directorial effort for Ami Canaan Mann (daughter of Michael Mann who is producing the film). The Fields stars Sam Worthington, Chloe Moretz and Jeffrey Dean Morgan and centers on a series of unsolved murders in industrial wastelands surrounding Gulf Coast refineries, where as many as 70 bodies have turned up over the past two decades. The film, which was originally called Texas Killing Fields is expected to be released later this year.

A Soundtrack album for the apocalyptic horror thriller Vanishing on 7th Street starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo has recently been released on iTunes. The album features 26 tracks of Lucas Vidal’s original score from the film, as well as 2 songs by Howard Herrick. Vidal’s music was written for prepared piano, string quartet and cello octet. According to the Gorfaine/Schwartz agency, Geoff Zanelli has been hired to score the upcoming thriller Beneath the Darkness. In the movie set in Texas, a 16-year-old boy struggles to expose the grim secrets surrounding a “haunted” house after the death of his best friend. The film is directed by Martin Guigui and stars Dennis Quaid, Tony Oller, Aimee Teegarden, Stephen Lunsford, Devon Werkheiser and Brett Cullen. The indie thriller which is currently in post-production is produced by Ronnie Klemer (A League of Their Own) and written by Bruce Wilkinson, who also serves as an executive producer on the film alongside Scott Mednick (Where the Wild Things Are). John Powell has won the Annie Award in the Music in a Feature Production category for his score for Dreamworks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon at tonight’s Annie Award ceremony in Los Angeles. The other contenders in the category were Sylvain Chomet (The Illusionist), David Hirschfelder (Legend of the Guardians), Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek Forever After) and Pharrell Williams & Heitor Pereira for Despicable Me. The award is Powell’s first win as a solo composer, having previously won for his collaboration with Harry Gregson-Williams on the original Shrek and his collaboration with Hans Zimmer on Kung Fu Panda. Film Music Reporter has learned that Mychael Danna has started work on the upcoming drama Moneyball. The film tells the story of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players. The movie stars Brad Pitt, Robin Wright, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Chris Pratt. Moneyball is based on a book by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side) and is directed by Bennett Miller who previously worked with Mychael Danna on 2005’s Oscar nominated biopic Capote. Jeff Danna co-scoring ‘Camelot’

As reported last year, Mychael Danna has been scoring the upcoming Starz TV show Camelot. We have learned since that his brother Jeff Danna has co-written the score for the period drama starring Jamie Campbell Bower, Joseph Fiennes, Eva Green, Tamsin Eggerton and Claire Forlani. The Danna brothers have worked together before numerous times on such movies as Green Dragon, Fracture, Lakeview Terrace and most recently on Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. ‘Unknown’ Soundtrack details

Varese Sarabande Records will release a soundtrack album for the upcoming thriller Unknown directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Liam Neeson, January Jones, Diane Kruger, Frank Langella and Aidan Quinn. The film’s music is written by John Ottman and newcomer Alexander Rudd. The soundtrack includes 16 tracks of original score and will be released on March 8, 2011. ‘Ironclad’ Soundtrack announced

Varese Sarabande Records will release Lorne Balfe’s original score for the action adventure movie Ironclad directed by Jonathan English and starring Brian Cox, Paul Giamatti, Kate Mara, James Purefoy and Derek Jacobi. The album includes 18 tracks of score. The soundtrack will be released on March 1, 2011 and will exclusively be available on iTunes in the US, while a physical CD is coming out in Europe.
