The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Cantelon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Conviction, Everything Is Illuminated). Christopher Lennertz revealed in a recent interview with Skewed n’ Reviewed that he is set to score the upcoming comedy Michelle Darnell. The film is directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates and Timothy Simons. The movie follows a titan of industry, who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading and later emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart. McCarthy and Falcone have also written the screenplay with Steve Mallory. The album features the film’s original score composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (Dear Wendy, The Escapist, Summer in February), including the music for three extended dance sequences especially created for the movie as a collaboration between Wallfisch and choreographer Akram Khan.
