Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for Jim Jarmusch’s horror comedy The Dead Don’t Die. The album features the film’s original score composed by SQÜRL (aka Jim Jarmusch & Chris Logan) who previously co-scored the director’s last feature Paterson. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on June 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Dead Don’t Die is written and directed by Jarmusch and stars Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Iggy Pop, Selena Gomez and Tom Waits. Victor Reyes (The Night Manager, Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights) has composed the original score for the upcoming action thriller Escape Plan: The Extractors. The film is directed by John Herzfeld (15 Minutes, 2 Days in the Valley) and stars Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista, Jamie King, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Lydia Hull, Tyler Jon Olson, Max Zhang, Devon Sawa, Harry Shum Jr., Malese Jow and Sergio Rizzuto. The movie is third part in the Escape Plan series and follows Ray Breslin as he is hired to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Hong Kong tech mogul from a formidable Latvian prison, where his girlfriend is also captured. New West Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary The Cold Blue. The album features the film’s original score composed by Richard Thompson (Grizzly Man). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Cold Blue is directed by Erik Nelson and tells the story of the Eighth Air Force who flew multiple deadly missions during WWII. The movie features newly restored 4K footage and outtakes, shot by director William Wyler (Ben-Hur) during the summer of 1943 for his 1944 documentary The Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress. Polydor France has released a soundtrack album for Claude Lelouch’s drama The Best Years of a Life (Les plus belles années d’une vie). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Francis Lai (Love Story, Bolero) and French singer/songwriter Calogero. The project marks the final film scoring project of Lai who passed away last November. Also included is the original title song by Calogero & Nicole Croisille. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. The Best Years of a Life co-written and directed by Lelouch and stars Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimee who reprise their roles from 1966’s A Man and a Woman (also scored by Lai). Songs from Olivia Wilde’s ‘Booksmart’ to Be Released

Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album featuring the songs from Olivia Wilde’s feature directorial debut Booksmart. Among the tracks included are What’s Golden by Jurassic 5, Slip Away by Perfume Genius, Can You Discover? by Discovery, Cold War by Cautious Clay, High on Your Love by Kings Go Forth, Boys by Lizzo and Carries On by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited vinyl edition exclusively at Urban Outfitters. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar. The film’s original score is composed by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as all songs from movie, including a new song written by Menken and featuring lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul.
