David Schwartz (Arrested Development, Northern Exposure, Lady Dynamite, Veep, Standing Up, Falling Down) is co-scoring the new Peacock original series Rutherford Falls. The show is created by Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation, Master of None), Ed Helms & Sierra Teller Ornelas and stars Helms himself, Jana Schmieding, Michael Greyeyes, Jesse Leigh and Dustin Milligan. The comedy revolves around two lifelong best friends who find themselves at a crossroads – quite literally – when their sleepy town gets an unexpected wakeup call.

Premiering tomorrow, March 1, is the NBC mystery drama Debris created by J.H. Wyman and starring Jonathan Tucker, Riann Steele, Norbert Leo Butz and Scroobius Pip. The show’s original music is composed by Raney Shockne (Queen of the South, Anger Management, The To Do List, Kevin Can Wait, The Wedding Year). The series, which revolves around a secretive international agency that is tasked with the mystery of a wreckage that starts falling from the sky, will air every Monday night on NBC. Peacock’s ‘Punky Brewster’ Revival to Feature Original Music by Linda Perry
Singer/songwriter Linda Perry (of the former rock band 4 Non Blondes) is the composer of the new Peacock original series Punky Brewster. The show is developed by Steve & Jim Armogida (School of Rock) based on the classic 80s sitcom and stars Soleil Moon Frye and Cherie Johnson who reprise their roles from the original series. They are joined by new cast members Freddie Prinze Jr., Quinn Copeland, Noah Cottrell, Oliver De Los Santos and Lauren Lindsey Donzis. The comedy follows Punky, who is now a single mother of three, as she is trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl in the foster system who reminds her a lot of her younger self.
‘To: Gerard’ Soundtrack Released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s short To: Gerard. The album features the film’s original music composed by Layla Minoui (Vampirina, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, The Mad Whale). The film’s original music is composed by Dolly Parton (who wrote 14 original songs for the project) and conducted by Larry Blank. The holiday musical, which follows a small town “Scrooge” as she’s visited by a rhinestone-bedazzled angel who guides her on a musical journey of redemption, is now available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
Premiering tomorrow, November 23, is the FX and BBC limited series Black Narcissus developed by Amanda Coe based on the novel of the same title by Rumer Godden and starring Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Diana Rigg, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Patsy Ferran, Karen Bryson, Nila Aalia, Kulvinder Ghir, Chaneil Kular, Gina McKee, Soumil Malla, Dipika Kunwar,and Gianni Gonsalves. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, The Crying Game, Poldark, The Hustle). The show’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home, Bad Boys for Life) who previously scored Tyrnauer’s features Studio 54 and Where’s My Roy Cohn?. Premiering on Wednesday, November 18, is the documentary Crazy, Not Insane directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis, a psychiatrist who has dedicated her career to studying murderers and seeking answers as to why people kill. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
Alex Geringas Scoring Peacock’s & Hulu’s ‘TrollsTopia’
Alex Geringas is the composer of DreamWorks Animation’s new Peacock and Hulu original series TrollsTopia. The show is inspired by the studio’s Trolls feature films (scored by Christophe Beck & Theodore Shapiro) and features the voices of Skylar Astin, Amanda Leighton, David Flynn, Ron Funches, Kenan Thompson, Megan Hilty, Jeanine Mason, Kat Graham and Kevin Michael Richardson. The series follows Poppy as she bottles up her endless positivity and invites delegates from every Troll tribe in the forest to live together in harmony in a grand experiment she calls TrollsTopia. Matthew Beans serves as executive producer.
‘The Capture’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC drama The Capture. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Blur drummer Dave Rowntree and Ian Arber (Medici, My Name Is Lenny, After the Screaming Stops). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 20 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. The Capture is written and directed by Ben Chanan and stars Callum Turner, Holliday Grainger, Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen, Ben Miles, Ralph Ineson, Paul Ritter, Lia Williams and Laura Haddock. The spy thriller is set in our contemporary world of digital surveillance and follows a soldier who returns to life as a free man with his young daughter after a conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence.

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the animated movie Curious George: Go West Go Wild. The album features the film’s original score composed by Germaine Franco (Tag, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Dope, Little) who previously scored last year’s Curious George: Royal Monkey. Also included are the original songs from the movie written by Michele Brourman & Amanda McBroom: The Other Side by Yuna, as well as five tracks performed by Rob Trow. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 8 and will be available to stream/download here. Curious George: Go West Go Wild is directed by Michael LaBash and features the voices of Frank Welker & Jeff Bennett, as well as Rino Romano as the narrator.
