Joseph Trapanese is credited as co-composer of the original score for the upcoming movie musical The Greatest Showman. He joined John Debney who was announced as the score composer earlier this year. Trapanese also produced several of the original songs written for the film by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. As previously reported, a soundtrack album featuring the songs will be released on December 8 by Atlantic Records. The Greatest Showman is directed by Michael Gracey and stars Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya. The movie is inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum and revolves around a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Lifetime’s ‘Flint’ to Feature Music by John Debney
John Debney has composed the music for the Lifetime original movie Flint. The film is directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy, Double Jeopardy) and stars Betsy Brandt, Jill Scott, Marin Ireland and Queen Latifah. The drama is inspired by the Time Magazine cover story The Toxic Tap by Josh Sanburn and tells the true story of a woman who deals with the toxic water scandal in Flint, Michigan, and the effect it has on her family. Barbara Stepansky (Hurt) wrote the script. Craig Zadan & Neil Meron (Hairspray, Empire, Smash) are executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Latifah and journalists Katie Couric and Shakim Compere.

John Debney Joins ‘The Orville’ Music Team
John Debney has joined the music team of Fox’s upcoming comedy drama The Orville and will score multiple episodes of the show created by Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy) who also stars in the series alongside Adrianne Palicki, Mark Jackson, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Halston Sage and Penny Johnson. As previously reported, Bruce Broughton has already scored the pilot episode and composed the show’s theme (click here to listen to the track) and Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West) is also scoring several episodes. The Orville is set 300 years in the future and tells the story of the Orville, a not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship in Earth’s interstellar fleet.

Jenny Bicks (What a Girl Wants) and Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast, Dreamgirls) wrote the screenplay.
John Debney to Score Brad Anderson’s ‘High Wire Act’
John Debney is reteaming with director Brad Anderson on the upcoming political action thriller High Wire Act. The film starring Jon Hamm, Rosamund Pike, Dean Norris, Larry Pine, Shea Whigham and Mark Pellegrino centers on a former U.S. diplomat who gets called back into service in 1980s Beirut to save a former colleague from the group responsible for his wife’s death. Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton, Duplicity, The Bourne Legacy) has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Shivani Rawat & Monica Levinson (Trumbo, Captain Fantastic), as well as Ted Field (Revenge of the Nerds, Riddick) and Mike Weber (Jumanji) of Radar Pictures.
