Premiering tonight is the TNT limited series High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam created by Daniel Stiepleman & Jonathan Wakeham and starring Joel Kinnaman, Waleed Zuaiter, Lena Góra, Tom Berenger, Christopher McDonald, Rebecca Night, Paul Ryan, Matt Barr, Dar Salim, Ewan Miller and Talia Balsam. The show’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Hocus Pocus, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2, The Emperor’s New Groove, The Princess Diaries, Liar Liar,Horizon: An American Saga) & Josh Debney (Santa Clarita Diet, The Road Within, Careful What You Wish For). Also premiering tonight is the Adult Swim original series The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza created by and starring Mendoza himself and guest starring Thomas Lennon, Marc Maron, Wanda Sykes, Fred Melamed, Haley Joel Osment, Eva Victor, Steve Buscemi and Randall Park. John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus, The Emperor’s New Groove, The Jungle Book, Liar Liar, The Princess Diaries, Horizon: An American Saga) has teamed up with his son Josh Debney (Santa Clarita Diet, Careful What You Wish For, The Road Within) to score the new TNT limited series High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam. The show is created by Daniel Stiepleman (On the Basis of Sex, Out of My Mind) & Jonathan Wakeham (To Catch a Killer, Midas Man) inspired by the memoir Debriefing the President by CIA analyst John Nixon and stars Joel Kinnaman, Waleed Zuaiter, Lena Góra, Tom Berenger, Rebecca Night, Paul Ryan, Christopher McDonald, Matt Barr, Dar Salim, Ewan Miller and Talia Balsam. The 8-part political thriller tells the story of Nixon, the first CIA officer to interrogate Saddam Hussein following his capture in December 2003, who is forced to confront the far-reaching consequences of the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the ramifications that would reverberate around the world for decades to come.

Premiering on Wednesday, February 1, is the BET original mini-series Madiba directed by Kevin Hooks and starring Laurence Fishburne, Orlando Jones, David Harewood, Michael Nyqvist and Terry Pheto. The show’s original music is composed by Todor Kobakov (The Samaritan, Born to Be Blue, Closet Monster, Bitten). Check out our scoring assignment announcement to learn more about the 3-parter, which follows a young Nelson Mandela during the early-60s as he deals with the political unrest engulfing South Africa.

Premiering on Thursday, February 2, is the new CBS drama Training Day developed by Will Beall based on Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 hit movie and starring Drew Van Acker, Bill Paxton, Katrina Law, Lex Scott Davis, Julie Benz, Justin Cornwell and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, CSI: Miami, Just Friends, Speechless) is composing the show’s original music. Netflix’s ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ to Feature Music by John Debney & Josh Debney

John Debney and Josh Debney are composing the original score for the upcoming Netflix original series Santa Clarita Diet. The show is created by Victor Fresco (Better Off Ted) and stars Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo. The comedy follows a married couple who are leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenage daughter until the wife goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction. Fresco, Barrymore and Olyphant are also executive producing the project with Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky (Mr. Robinson), Chris Miller & Ember Truesdell (Animal).

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Warcraft directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. The film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Person of Interest). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the action adventure sequel Now You See Me 2 directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou, Sanaa Lathan, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the comedy sequel Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 directed by Andy Fickman and starring Kevin James, Raini Rodriguez, Neal McDonough and Shirley Knight. The film’s original music is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Over the Hedge, Bee Movie, Click, Blended, Veep). No soundtrack album has been announced. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 follows the security guard as he travels to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter and inadvertently discovers a heist. The comedy is being released by Sony Pictures. To learn more about the film, visit the official movie website.

Also opening wide is Disneynature’s documentary Monkey Kingdom directed by Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill. Walt Disney Records has released the original song It’s Our World performed by Jacquie Lee from the film earlier this week. Click here to download the track. Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek series, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire, The Equalizer) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Careful What You Wish For’ to Feature Music by John Debney, The Newton Brothers & Josh Debney

John Debney has composed the theme for the upcoming thriller Careful What You Wish For. The composer’s son Josh Debney and The Newton Brothers have written the score for the movie directed by Elizabeth Allen (Aquamarine, Ramona and Beezus) and starring Isabel Lucas, Dermot Mulroney, Nick Jonas, Graham Rogers and Paul Sorvino. The film follows a young, lonely wife of a wealthy businessman who rents the lake house next door to a high-school student. When the student starts an affair with the wife, he gets more than he bargained for. Robert L. Stein, Michael A. Helfant & Bradley Gallo are producing the project for Troika Pictures, alongside Ashok Amritraj (Bandits, Shopgirl) for Hyde Park and Kirk D’Amico.
