Premiering on Tuesday, January 16, is the new CW drama Black Lightning developed by Samil Akil & Mara Brock Akil based on the DC comic books character created by Tony Isabella & Trevor Von Eeden and starring Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain and Christine Adams. The show’s original music is composed by Kurt Farquhar (The King of Queens, Moesha, The Perfect Game, Stitchers). Premiering on Wednesday, January 17, is the FX original series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story starring Darren Criss, Edgar Ramírez, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Scream Queens) who previously scored the first American Crime Story season The People v. O.J. Simpson has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, December 29, is the new season of the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror created by Charlie Brooker. Episodes of the fourth season include USS Callister (featuring music by Daniel Pemberton), Arkangel directed by Jodie Foster (scored by Mark Isham), Crocodile directed by John Hillcoat (featuring music by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross & Claudia Sarne) and Black Museum (scored by Cristobal Tapia de Veer). The full season will be available to stream on Friday on Netflix.

Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven, The Martian) has composed the main titles theme for upcoming Channel 4 & Amazon original series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. Check out the main titles sequence after the jump. The composer has also scored at least one episode of the anthology series. Olafur Arnalds (Broadchurch, Gimme Shelter) and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts) are also scoring multiple episodes of the show, which are all based on short stories by legendary sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick.

Cristobal Tapia de Veer Scoring ‘Black Mirror’ Episode ‘Black Museum’

Cristobal Tapia de Veer has composed the music for the upcoming Black Mirror episode Black Museum. The episode is directed by Colm McCarthy (Outcast, Peaky Blinders) and stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun. The show’s creator Charlie Brooker wrote the script. The composer has previously collaborated with McCarthy on last year’s feature The Girl with All the Gifts. He joins Daniel Pemberton and Mark Isham who have previously announced as composers for episodes of the new season.

Cristobal Tapia de Veer Wins BAFTA TV Craft Award for ‘National Treasure’

Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl With All the Gifts) won his first BAFTA TV Craft Award today for his music for the Channel 4 & Hulu mini-series National Treasure. The composer accepted his award in person at the ceremony in London. Check out his acceptance speech after the jump. Tapia de Veer’s score for the show was released earlier this year by Free Run Artists. The other nominees in the Original Music category were Anne Dudley for Poldark, Hans Zimmer, Jasha Klebe & Jacob Shea for Planet Earth II and Martin Phipps for War and Peace.

Williams and Ivory Aquino. The show’s themes and music are composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland) and Chris Bacon (Source Code, Bates Motel). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring a suite from the composers’ score, as well as songs by Jordan Fisher, Fancy, Brandi Carlile and Zella Day. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the thriller Get Out written and directed by Jordan Peele and starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones and Catherine Keener. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Abels. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the animated feature Rock Dog directed by Ash Brennon and featuring the voices of JK Simmons, Luke Wilson, Eddie Izzard, Lewis Black, Kenan Thompson, Mae Whitman, Jorge Garcia, Matt Dillon and Sam Elliot. Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Up in the Air, Election, Legally Blonde, Wedding Crashers) has composed the film’s original score. Free Run Artists has released a soundtrack album for the Channel 4 mini-series National Treasure. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts, Humans). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. National Treasure is created by Jack Thorne (A Long Way Down) and stars Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters and Andrea Riseborough. The 4-parter follows one half of a popular, long-running comedy double act who is thrown into chaos when he is accused of historic sexual abuse.

‘The Girl with All the Gifts’ Soundtrack Details

Death Waltz Recording will release the official soundtrack album for the thriller The Girl with All the Gifts. The album features the film’s original music composed by Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, National Treasure). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 27, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album will also be released on CD and on vinyl. The Girl with All the Gifts is directed by Colm McCarthy and stars Glenn Close, Gemma Arterton, Paddy Considine and Sennia Nanua. The movie takes place in an underground bunker, where children are being examined by scientists in the hopes of finding a cure for a fungal spore that has infected the planet.
