Premiering tonight is the HBO limited series The White Lotus created by Mike White and starring Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Jennifer Coolidge, Jake Lacy, Fred Hechinger, Brittany O’Grady, Sydney Sweeney, Natasha Rothwell and Steve Zahn. The show is created by Mike White (Enlightened, Brad’s Status, The Good Girl) and stars Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney and Steve Zahn. The 6-parter is set at an exclusive Hawaiian resort and follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise.

‘The Third Day: Summer’ Soundtrack Album Details

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the HBO limited series The Third Day. The album features the original music from the first part/three episodes of the show, entitled Summer, composed by Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, National Treasure). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 18 and will be available to stream/download here. The Third Day is created by Dennis Kelly & Felix Barrett and stars Jude Law, Naomie Harris, Katherine Waterston, Emily Watson, and Paddy Considine. Summer is directed by Marc Munden and follows a man drawn to a mysterious Island off the British coast, who encounters a group of islanders set on preserving their traditions at any cost.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the reboot of the classic detective series Van der Valk written by Chris Murray and starring Marc Warren, Maimie McCoy, Elliot Barnes-Worrell, Darrell D’Silva and Emma Fielding. The show’s original music is composed and conducted by Matthijs Kieboom (Wild, Bloody Marie). All3Media has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the drama premiered in the UK. The show is created by Dennis Kelly and stars Jude Law, Naomie Harris, Katherine Waterston, Emily Watson and Paddy Considine. The drama consists of three interconnected stories, including the tale of a man who is drawn to a mysterious Island off the British coast where he encounters a group of islanders set on preserving their traditions at any cost. Kelly (Black Sea) is also executive producing the Sky Studios and Plan B Entertainment production with Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight) and Felix Barrett.

Premiering in the U.S. today is the mini-series War of the Worlds created by Howard Overman based on H.G. Wells’ novel of the same name and starring Gabriel Byrne, Elizabeth McGovern, Léa Drucker, Adel Bencherif, Emilie de Preissac, Natasha Little, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ty Tennant. The show’s original music is composed by David Martijn (De Dag, The Twelve). The 8-parter, which follows a group of astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, premiered in Europe last fall, is making its U.S. debut on Epix. The show is created by David Weil and stars Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Lena Olin, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Tiffany Boone, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Greg Austin, and Dylan Baker. The drama follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City who have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S.

Cristobal Tapia de Veer to Score Nicolas Pesce’s ‘Grudge’ Reboot

Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts, National Treasure, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency) has been hired to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller Grudge. The film is written and directed by Nicolas Pesce (Piercing, The Eyes of My Mother) and stars John Cho, Demián Bichir, Jacki Weaver, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye and Andrea Riseborough. The movie is a reboot of 2004’s The Grudge (scored by Christopher Young), which was based on the Japanese horror feature Ju-on: The Grudge and revolves around a house that is haunted by a vengeful ghost that curses those who enter it…with a violent death.

Soundtrack Album for ‘Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’ Released

Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi anthology series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. The album features the music from the series, including the main title theme composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia), as well as the composer’s score for the episodes The Commuter (for which he received an Emmy Award nomination) and The Father Thing. Also included is the music for three episodes composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane), two episodes by Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia), one episode by Ólafur Arnalds (Broadchurch), as well as two episodes by Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It), one of which he co-scored with BT (The Fast & the Furious, Monster). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples.

Cristobal Tapia de Veer’s Score from ‘Black Mirror’ Episode ‘Black Museum’ to Be Released

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Black Mirror episode Black Museum. The album features the original music from the sixth and last episode of the show’s fourth season composed by Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, National Treasure, Humans, Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 19 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Black Museum is written by the series’ creator Charlie Brooker, directed by Colm McCarthy who previously collaborated with the composer on the feature The Girl with All the Gifts and stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun.
