Premiering on Tuesday, January 16, is the new CW drama Black Lightning developed by Samil Akil & Mara Brock Akil based on the DC comic books character created by Tony Isabella & Trevor Von Eeden and starring Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain and Christine Adams. The show’s original music is composed by Kurt Farquhar (The King of Queens, Moesha, The Perfect Game, Stitchers). Premiering on Wednesday, January 17, is the FX original series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story starring Darren Criss, Edgar Ramírez, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Scream Queens) who previously scored the first American Crime Story season The People v. O.J. Simpson has composed the show’s original music. Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It) and BT (The Fast and the Furious, Monster) have recently scored two episodes of the new Amazon original series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. The composers collaborated on the music for the episodes Autofac starring Juno Temple, Janelle Monae & David Lyons, and Isham also scored the episode Safe and Sound. In addition, Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, Happy Death Day, The Walking Dead) has scored three episodes including the Dee Rees-helmed Kill All Others, as well as Real Life and Impossible Planet, both of which already aired in the UK on Channel 4. 
Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven, The Martian) has composed the main titles theme for upcoming Channel 4 & Amazon original series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. Check out the main titles sequence after the jump. The composer has also scored at least one episode of the anthology series. Olafur Arnalds (Broadchurch, Gimme Shelter) and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts) are also scoring multiple episodes of the show, which are all based on short stories by legendary sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick.
