Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the sports drama Million Dollar Arm. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Couples Retreat). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 13, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical version is set to come out on May 19 and is available to order here. Million Dollar Arm is directed by Craig Gillespie, scripted by Tom McCarthy and stars Jon Hamm, Aasif Mandvi, Bill Paxton, Lake Bell, Suraj Sharma, Madhur Mittal, Pitobash and Alan Arkin. The movie is based on a true story of a real-life sports agent who discovered professional pitchers through a reality show he staged in India with cricket players. Bruce Broughton’s ‘The Rescue’ Score Released

Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1988 action movie The Rescue directed by Ferdinand Fairfax and starring Kevin Dillon, Ned Vaughn, Marc Price, Charles Haid, Christine Harnos, Ian Giatti and James Cromwell. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Bruce Broughton (Silverado, Young Sherlock Holmes, Rescuers Down Under). Also featured are three extra tracks, featuring a source and alternate cue. Domino USA has released a soundtrack album for the indie drama Palo Alto. The album features the film’s original songs by Dev Hynes and his musical project Blood Orange, as well as Robert Schwartzman. Also included are other songs from the film by artists including Coconut Records, Mac Demarco and Nat & Alex Wolff. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. A physical version will be released on June 3, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Palo Alto is directed by Gia Coppola and stars Emma Roberts, James Franco, Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, Zoe Levin, Claudia Levy, Chris Messina and Val Kilmer. The movie is based on a short stories collection by James Franco and follows three intertwined storylines. Tribeca Film will release the drama in Los Angeles and New York on May 9, 2014. Back Lot Music will release the title song for Seth MacFarlane’s comedy western A Million Ways to Die in the West. The song, entitled A Million Ways to Die, is performed by Alan Jackson and will be released tomorrow, April 29. As previously reported, the label will release a soundtrack album, which will feature the song, as well as the film’s original score composed by Joel McNeely on May 27. Cosmos Studios Music will release the third soundtrack album for the Fox docu-series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Ann Druyan, Mitchell Cannold & Brannon Braga and hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The Volume 3 soundtrack features more music from the show composed by Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, The Avengers, Back to the Future). Thomas Newman is set to return to compose the score for the comedy drama sequel The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2. The film is directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love) and reunites the cast of the original film including Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel, Celia Imrie, Ronald Pickup, Penelope Wilton, Diana Hardcastle, Tena Desae and Lillete Dubey. They are joined by Richard Gere, David Strathairn and Tamsin Greig. Ol Parker (Imagine Me & You) who scripted the original film has written the screenplay based on a story by himself and Madden. Big Machine Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the ABC drama Nashville. The Music of Nashville – Season 2 – Vol. 2 will feature songs from the show performed by cast members including Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Clare Bowen, Will Chase, Jonathan Jackson, Aubrey Peeples, Chris Carmack and Lennon & Maisy Stella.
