John Ottman and David Buckley are scoring the new Fox drama The Gifted. The show is developed by Matt Nix (APB, Burn Notice) based on Marvel’s X-Men properties and stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White. The series tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects) has directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the 20th Century Fox and Marvel Television production with Nix, Lauren Shuler Donner (Deadpool, Logan), Simon Kinberg (The Martian, Logan), Jeph Loeb & Jim Chory (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Legion).

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut. The album features the original score from the new cut of last year’s hit film composed by John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, X2, Valkyrie, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four), including new music which the composer recorded specifically for the new edition. The soundtrack will be released on July 10, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the original soundtrack for the film last year. John Ottman to Return for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
John Ottman has officially signed on to score X-Men: Apocalypse. The film is directed by Bryan Singer and star Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassebender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters and Rose Byrne who return in their roles from X-Men: First Class and Days of Future Past. They are joined by new cast members Sophie Turner who will play Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, as well as Oscar Isaacs and Ben Hardy. Simon Kinberg who scripted the previous film in the franchise is writing the screenplay for the sequel, which takes place in the 1980s. Singer and Kinberg are also producing the project with Lauren Shuler Donner and Hutch Parker. Ottman will also once again serve as the film’s editor.

The details of the soundtrack album for the superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past have been revealed. Also included is Roberta Flack’s song The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face and Jim Groce’s Time in a Bottle. ‘Lethal Weapon’ Series Box Set and Expanded ‘Superman Returns’ Soundtrack Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a 8-CD box set for the action comedy series Lethal Weapon directed by Richard Donner and starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. The albums feature the original scores from all four movies composed by Michael Kamen (Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves), Eric Clapton and David Sanborn. The scores for the first three installments have been expanded beyond their original soundtrack albums and the score for Lethal Weapon 4 makes its world premiere on the set. The albums also feature alternate cues, as well as cues that were unused in the final film. Also included are the songs from the films by artists including Sting, Elton John, George Harrison and The Beach Boys. John Ottman has officially signed on to score the upcoming superhero film sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. The film reunites the composer with Bryan Singer who is directing his third entry in the franchise. The movie acts as a sequel to both 2011’s X-Men: First Class (scored by Henry Jackman) and 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand (scored by John Powell) and stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Daniel Cudmore from the original trilogy, as well as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult from the last part in the series. They are joined by new cast members Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart and Fan Bingbing, Singer is also writing the story and Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman are penning the script. The director is also producing the project with Vaughn, Kinberg and Richard & Lauren Shuler Donner.

The film is a twist on the Jack and the Beanstalk story and centers on the kidnapping of a princess that threatens the long-standing peace between men and giants, and a young farmer who’s given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue her. The movie stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ian McShane, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir. Writers involved in the project are Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) and Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After). As on previous collaborations between Ottman and Singer (The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, Superman Returns, Valkyrie), Ottman will also be editing the film in addition to writing the music.
