Frederik Wiedmann has composed the music for the upcoming DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation film Batman vs. Robin. The movie is inspired by the Batman: The Court of Owls storyline from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo and features the voices of Jason O’Mara as Batman, Sean Maher as Robin and David McCallum as Alfred. They are joined by Jeremy Sisto, Grey Griffin, “Weird” Al Yankovic, Robin Atkin Downes, Peter Onorati and Kevin Conroy. Jay Oliva who previously helmed Batman: Assault on Arkham and both parts of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is directing the film from a script by comic writer J.M. DeMatteis. ‘The Godfather LIVE’ to Debut in Los Angeles

On Saturday, January 24, The Godfather LIVE will make its Southern California debut at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. The film’s original music composed by Nino Rota for the Academy Award-winning film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, John Cazale, Robert Duvall & Diane Keaton will performed live by the Hollywood Studio Symphony while the film is simultaneously shown in high definition on the big screen. The event will also feature appearances of special guests to be announced. Justin Freer is conducting and producing the concert. ‘Spare Parts’ Soundtrack Released

J-2 Music has released a soundtrack album for the family drama Spare Parts. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Ozomatli, Yerba Buena, Mateo Stevens, Cucu Diamantes, Los Hanky Pankys, Fonseca, JJ Hadari & more. In addition to the nationwide expansion of Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, three other new movies are opening across the country this week:
Opening in around 3300 theaters is the family movie Paddington written and directed by Paul King and starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. The film’s original music is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as songs from the film by James Brown, Steppenwolf and Lionel Richie. The U.S. version of the film also features the original song Shine by Pharrell Williams & Gwen Stefani, which can be checked out here.
Opening in roughly 3000 theaters is the comedy The Wedding Ringer directed by Jeremy Garelick and starring Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Ken Howard, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Mimi Rogers and Olivia Thirlby. Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Agent Carter, Identity Thief) has composed the film’s original score. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by such artists as The Black Eyed Peas, Boyz II Men, Otis Redding, Todd Rundgren, Hal Jeffrin and Rancid earlier this week. Same Player will release a soundtrack album for the French animated feature The Prince and the 108 Demons (Les 108 Rois-Démons). The album features the film’s original music written by Golden Globe-nominated composer Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Up in the Air, Election, Wedding Crashers). ‘Strange Magic’ Soundtrack Announced

Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Strange Magic. The album features the songs from the film performed by the movie’s voice cast. Marius de Vries serves as the project’s musical director and has picked numerous popular songs from the past six decades. He also composed the original score for the Lucasfilm production. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 20, 2015. A physical version is set to be released on February 17, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
