Amazon Content Services has released the original song Pain Killer from the Amazon original series Goliath. The track, which is featured in the second episode of the show’s fourth season, is written by late songwriter/composer Adam Schlesinger (of Fountains of Wayne) (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Music & Lyrics, Damsels in Distress) and performed by J.K. Simmons who stars as George Sax, and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to the full track below. Adam Schlesinger has passed away today at age 52 as a result of coronavirus complications. The singer/songwriter who was known as a member of bands Fountains of Wayne, Ivy, and Tinted Windows has composed the scores and songs for numerous movies and TV shows. He was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for co-writing the original title song from Tom Hanks’ 1996 directorial debut That Thing You Do!. He also won an Emmy Award for co-writing the song Anti-Depressants Are So Not a Big Deal from The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and two songs written for the 66th Annual Tony Awards.

Marco Beltrami & Brandon Roberts have won their first Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special category for their score for National Geographic’s Free Solo at tonight’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards. In the Music & Lyrics category, Rachel Bloom, Adam Schlesinger and Jack Dolgen received the prize for the original song Antidepressants Are So Not A Big Deal from the episode I Have To Get Out of The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. In the Outstanding Music Direction category, Alex Lacamoire was honored for his work on the FX original series Fosse/Verdon.

Mychael Danna, Bear McCreary and John Lunn Win Emmy Awards
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out this afternoon at the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. John Lunn has received his second Emmy for his music for Downtown Abbey in the Outstandig Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) category after last year’s win. Mychael Danna won his first Emmy Award for the mini-series World Without End in the Outstandig Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special (Original Dramatic Score) category. Bear McCreary received his first Emmy Award for his main titles theme for Da Vinci’s Demons. In the Original Music and Lyrics category, Adam Schlesinger (music) and David Javerbaum (lyrics) were honored with an Emmy for the song If I Had Time written for the 66th Annual Tony Awards ceremony.
