Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French thriller Kompromat. The album features the film’s original music composed by Guillaume Roussel (3 Days to Kill, Black Beauty, The Spy, Happy!, BAC Nord, The Man with the Iron Heart, The Takedown). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Kompromat is co-directed by directed by Jérôme Salle and stars Gilles Lellouche, Joanna Kulig, Mikhail Safronov, Michael Gor, Aleksey Gorbunov, Sasha Piltsin, and Louis-Do de Lencquesaing. The movie is based on true events and tells the story of a French public servant who unwittingly found himself in conflict with one of the modern era’s most powerful and dangerous forces: Russia’s FSB.

‘The Odyssey’ Soundtrack Released
TF1 has released a soundtrack album for the adventure drama The Odyssey (L’odyssée). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla, Argo). Also included are songs by Otis Redding, James Brown, The Mamas & The Papas, The Guess Who & more. The soundtrack is now available digitally and physically overseas. The movie tells the story of famous French naval officer and filmmaker Jacques Cousteau.
Alexandre Desplat Scoring ‘France’ Documentary
Alexandre Desplat is scoring the upcoming French documentary France (Les habitants). The film is directed by Raymond Depardon (Journal de France) and follows the filmmaker as he drives through France, from the north to the south, and stops in front of homes and places of business to meet the people of France. Claudine Nougaret is producing the project for Palmeraie et Désert. The documentary will be released in France on April 27, 2016. Check out a teaser trailer for the film after the jump.
Alexandre Desplat to Score Stephen Frears’ ‘Philomena’
Alexandre Desplat is reteaming with director Stephen Frears on the upcoming tragic comedy Philomena. The film starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan is based on the book The Lost Child of Philomena Lee: A Mother, Her Son and a 50 Year Search by BBC journalist Martin Sixsmith and tells the true story of an Irish woman seeking the illegitimate son she was forced to put up for adoption in the U.S. Coogan co-wrote the script with Jeff Pope and is also producing the BBC Films, Pathe and British Film Institute production with Gabrielle Tana (The Duchess, Coriolanus) and Tracey Seaward (The Queen, Dirty Pretty Things). Desplat has previously collaborated with Frears on the Academy Award-nominated drama The Queen, as well as Cheri and Tamara Drewe.
