Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Crown. The album features the show’s main title theme composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, The Lion King, Rain Man, Pirates of the Caribbean), as well as the drama’s original music composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (The Legend of Tarzan, Hacksaw Ridge, Over the Hedge, Bee Movie). The soundtrack will be released on November 4, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Crown is created by Peter Morgan (The Queen, Rush) and stars Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby and John Lithgow. The series is based on Morgan’s play The Audience and centers on the interplay and political intrigue between Queen Elizabeth II and the British prime ministers spanning several decades. First Songs from ‘Hidden Figures’ Released

Columbia Records has released the first two songs from the soundtrack for Theodore Melfi’s upcoming drama Hidden Figures. The tracks, Runnin’ and Surrender are written and performed by Pharrell Williams and the latter song also features vocals by Lalah Hathaway. Both songs are now available digitally. Trevor Morris to Score Marvel’s Netflix Series ‘Iron Fist’

Trevor Morris has been tapped to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix original series Iron Fist. The show is developed by Chris Buck (Dexter) based on the Marvel Comics property and stars Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey and Rosario Dawson. The drama centers on billionaire Danny Rand who mysteriously returns to New York City 15 years after he was presumed dead and tries to reconnect with his past, but when a long-destined enemy rises, he turns to his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. Buck is also executive producing the Marvel Television and ABC Studios production with Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). ‘Scream 2’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD club series. Among the new titles is a deluxe edition soundtrack for Wes Craven’s 1997 horror sequel Scream 2 starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Jamie Kennedy, Liev Schreiber, Timothy Olyphant, Jerry O’Connell and Laurie Metcalfe. The album features the complete original score composed and conducted by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, World War Z, The Hurt Locker) who also scored the other installments in the series, including more than 50 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included are Danny Elfman’s Cassandra Aria and Cassandra Reprise composed for the movie. The movie is based on Julian Barnes’ Man Booker Prize-winning novel of the same title and follows a man who becomes haunted by his past and is presented with a mysterious legacy that causes him to re-think his current situation in life. The movie follows a team of trained operatives who find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after its artificial intelligence is suddenly shut down and begin to experience strange and horrific phenomena. ‘Ethel & Ernest’ Soundtrack Details

Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for the animated feature Ethel & Ernest. The album features the film’s original score composed by Carl Davis (Cranford, Pride and Prejudice, The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Upstairs Downstairs). Also included is the original song In the Blink of an Eye performed by Paul McCartney. The soundtrack will be released in the UK on November 11, 2016. No word yet on a domestic release date. Ethel & Ernest is written and directed by Roger Mainwood and features the voices of Brenda Blethyn, Jim Broadbent, Luke Treadaway, Pam Ferris, Roger Allam, Peter Wight, Harry Collett, Gillian Hanna and Karyn Claydon. Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the action thriller Jack Reacher: Never Go Back directed by Edward Zwick and starring Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Aldis Hodge, Danika Yarosh, Patrick Heusinger, Holt McCallany and Robert Knepper. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Big Hero 6, Captain Phillips). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the western In a Valley of Violence. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jeff Grace (Night Moves, Hap and Leonard, Meek’s Cutoff, Stake Land, Cold in July, The House of the Devil). In a Valley of Violence is written and directed by Ti West and stars Ethan Hawke, Taissa Farmiga, James Ransone, Karen Gillan and John Travolta.
