The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) has named Academy Award-nominated songwriter Diane Warren and composer Thomas Newman as the newest SCL Ambassadors. The SCL Ambassador Program was established to revere the elite group of screen composers, lyricists and songwriters whose contributions have made a significant impact in music for film, television, and video games. The talent showcased by these individuals has set the standard for music in visual media and they are leading representatives of their craft. The full details of the soundtrack album for Disney’s animated feature Moana have been revealed. The album features the film’s original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina (Twister, Speed, Tarzan, Brother Bear, Bad Boys), as well as the movie’s original score composed by Mancina. The Newton Brothers are reteaming with director Mike Flanagan on the upcoming thriller Gerald’s Game. The film starring Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, Henry Thomas, Carel Struycken, Kate Siegel and Chiara Aurelia is based on Stephen King’s 1992 novel of the same title and . Flanagan also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Howard. Trevor Macy (The Raven, The Cold Light of Day) is producing the project for Intreped Pictures. The Newton Brothers have previously collaborated with Flanagan on his previous four features, including Oculus, Before I Wake, Hush and Ouija: Origin of Evil and also scored Intrepid’s upcoming thriller The Bye Bye Man.
